I remember when the blue Grand Am's generation first came out and now watching them as old junkers being crushed makes me feel old.

I remember when Pontiac put body cladding on most of its models (like the red Grand Am). Little did we know what damage it was doing to the metal under the cladding...

I had a '99 Grand Am and the battery acid had rotted the frame on it. I also work at a wrecking yard and my boss became the next owner of my Grand Am and the '99 Malibu I had right after.

Daniel Johnson They are cars that are from around that area, where the owner thought it wasn’t worth saving anymore, where it might have needed an engine or a transmission, or in this case, were rusted to the extent where they were unsafe to drive. Some of them might have been used cars that didn’t sell, from a used car dealer that has older cars, where they sell cars that are wholesaled from new car dealerships. Some might have been from towing companies, where the car was towed, but the person couldn’t pay the towing bill (or chose not to), and at least in Massachusetts, they can get rid of them after a specified period of time. Lastly, some of the vehicles might have been bought from salvage auctions, where the car was in a wreck, flood, or another circumstance where the insurance company declared it a total loss, and was sold at auction, and the junkyard owner bought it from there.

Nothing of a big loss here. Maybe the Cutlass just cause it's old, but looking at it, it's junk. No good parts ...4 door also...rest just high volume forgettable junk beyond restoration...besides who would want to restore a base model 91 grand am? Maybe if it was a GT...again no loss here.

1st car gutted of useful parts and it rusted out pritty bad on one side, plus its a late 70's usa car by then ppl weren't buying usa cars as they were too gas hungy 4 door as well so no one wants it really badly rusted out too! also had some old advery on the hood? 2nd car ah a 90's pontiac yeah by then pontiac cars were just ulgy or were not as nice as the ones from the 70's and 60's most of the useful parts are gone rest is either plastic or sun faded, blimey the roof on that thing was strong! must of been tested if it were to roll over or be dropped on its roof, 3rd car another celebrity? well they must of moved a lot of units if this is the 3rd one once again looks to be partly stripped but who wants a celebrity? 4th car another 90's pontiac and its rusted out badly looks to of just had a part re-moved maybe the car jack in the boot and some engine parts oh and the insides if there's anything ppl like from the insides of a 90's pontiac, 5th car a what? never heard of it must be rare oh wait no just another car that was made cheaply under a usa car name, rusted and a few parts gone

@@fixinggrace the best car I ever had was a 1987 Chevrolet celebrity it had over 380,000 miles on it when I sold it the only reason I got rid of it was it had a short in the wiring harness due to age just old and rotted wiring

+1964corvan Would the owners of this junkyard allow me to get into one of the vehicles that is about to get crushed and then would they allow me to get crushed inside one of them along with all of my left-over cloth and disposable diapers? (NOT a fetish BTW, I'd be doing this for Death With Dignity aka End-of-Life-Options act where the law allows me to choose the method and the timing as well as the setting!) SO........HOW much would I have to pay at the gate-house/Scale-house?
