💀 Car Crash - VW Golf GTI on Mountain Road / Touge Canyon Run (60fps, HD)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A spirited canyon run ends up with the VW GTI crashed and totaled in the hillside - it's the risk of driving on a mountain pass at speeds. Stay safe out there - the track beats the road and street at upper limits! This can happen anywhere - Mexico, USA, Ebisu, Nurburgring, wherever.

Stupîd comment. Even at normal speed you can make mistakes or have this kind of incidents. FWD cars are known to be slippy on the front wheels. Just a bit of water can cause this kind of slides without even going fast. If you don't like touge that's fine, just don't watch. Your comment just make you look like someone who know nothing about cars.

Rule #1. KNOW THE ROAD. Run through it a couple of times 'quickly', you'll get an understanding of what is around blind corners. Looks like it was both of these guys' first time around as they tried doing nearly 100 mph around a blind tight bend. Most of the time you can't save it, so you have to learn to prevent it.

Shit dude I feel for him. My back roads can still surprise you from time to mine even with experience and I almost totaled my Celi that way. My buddy has an MR2 and he tried a little bit of lane swallowing on a turn when suddenly a Genesis Sedan I had passed earlier took a corner super quick, throwing my body off. He had to turn off towards the shoulder of the road, the mud in there turned him around and he slid backwards off to the very side of the ditch. It was scary, and he was just inches away from tumbling into a horizontal tree forest to possibly his death. Since then I've stopped doing lane swallowing and considered getting spotters, and thankfully my friend and his MR2 are ok. The Touge isn't very popular for a reason: It IS popular, it's just that 1/3 of the people who are into it are still alive

Your driving up to the crash was sketchy as hell and it seems like you either weren't properly used to it or it was doing things you didn't expect it to do and you were relying on the ABS and ESP to bail you out. Yeah, you kinda saved it at the end, but if a family was coming the other way in a car, you both would have just killed them. Yeah, I drive fast, but I appreciate that whilst I am a good driver, I am not a pro and you have to take your skill level and conditions into account.

That's why I don't drive fast on winding roads, you find unexpected sharp turns.

First of all, don’t break when speeding round corners, prevents under steer, break before corner, drop gear and accelerate, use racing line for best view and traction.

He should have braked sooner, ride out the turn and gradually give it gas. I also think he got pulled in by one side of the dirt road, seeing how that lane was very narrow and probably had a considerable height displacement between the asphalt curb and the dirt. A turn like that on a road that narrow... He was probably pressing his luck. Not to mention FWD is notorious for the weight shift powerslide and that probably made his car WANT to go right when the rest of the car was supposed to go left. Like I said, early braking can help you prepare yourself to take a turn a lot better than late breaking. Unless you have a RWD/Torque Split AWD and know how to drift, brake turning is a bad idea for FWD. As far as saving it... If he had been able to retain control over his steering at the very least, he could have probably turned it towards the spot you stopped at and worst case scenario break through the gate and need a new bumper/hood.

Mistfire333 wise up. if you knew anything about going fast and safe, you would know that you never want to drift. drift for fun yea, but not for racing.

You say wise up when you have apparently forgotten that grammar exists. The first letter of a sentence should be capitalized.

@@BySixa yeah if I'm racing someone and they start drifting corners, I will pass them easily. And they will most likely spin out eventually or pop a tire. Despite what Initial D has told us, grip is usually faster, unless it's snowing or you're on a dirt road. but yes, practice drifting so you know what to do if you lose grip in the rear

That corner wasnt hard to follow, but that dirt road obviously caused some dirt to go to the asphalt, and when the first guy tries to go for the corner, he turn the steering wheel but the front goes out, and then he brakes so the car went straight. He was smart actually putting the car off the track and going for that dirty road, if he comitted and tried to go for the corner he would pretty much just hit some tree... The second guy was using his friend as a reference when he had to be using the track, so he went off of the track as well... They were lucky, this could have been much worse! im brazillian, so my english isnt so good, but i think you can understand..
