Hello! My name is Evan and this is my trip to LA in my stealth camper that I converted with the help of my dad. I lived out of this van for a whole year in San Francisco and currently live in Santa Cruz. My dad is a carpenter and with his help, I was able to create the cabinets which is the foundation of the conversion. I designed and built the entire plumbing and electrical system. This van is completely off-grid with a fully self-sustaining electrical system and a complete plumbing system. Despite how small the Nissan NV200 is, I was able to have a decent amount of storage space, due to the fact that I sacrificed the entire floor space.

Particular praise for the very slick, “blink and you miss it” transition at 2:12 where the person’s body becomes the edge of the wipe from the market to the city street. Applause!

Lived in LA for 12 years; I would say most people don’t get the view of the city when they only aim for the tourist sites. Stay safe man; make sure you get to meet and connect with locals that might share a parking spot when you’re in a jam.

This is the second video I’m watching of yours and this is also a random coincidence. My boyfriend is a mail carrier and JUST got assigned a Mercedes van with a RIGHT side driver side too 😅 I’m still learning a lot about USPS but he said that all their trucks/ vans must have right side steering so if it’s in a suburban area with mail boxes on the curb. They have less steps to take, it’ll be more efficient to just open the Right front door. Another random fact is that the streets assignments are set in a way that they never have to turn Left. If any of this makes sense. If it doesn’t, I’m sorry 😞 hope you’re having fun and staying safe out there! So glad I bumped into your channel.

  • @StoriesFromaVan

Oh that makes sense! I’ve heard of avoiding left turns to make routes more efficient! Thanks for the explanation about the right side driver seat!

If you had some sort of a clamp attached to a large plastic pipe around 6" long, then you could probably prop it up to your rear van door, stick an umbrella inside the short plastic pipe (like a socket), open the umbrella, and have a far more comfortable standing desk experience with a lot more shade. Add a fold-able, thin bar stool and now you're really stylin'. .

I remember watching your video on your conversion a while back and thinking at the time, If I ever peruse van life, your van was one of the most practical conversions I've seen yet. I'd be very comfortable in something similar! Watched a couple of your travelling vlogs and I appreciate your simplistic lifestyle too. For some weird reason, van conversion/van life videos have been a great source of help through the pandemic. Throughout my life, I've travelled a lot as a musician. This kind of lifestyle set up is super attractive to me. It'd be perfect for festivals and late night gigs! Not having to get home late at night would certainly relieve a lot of anxiety. Good health and prosperity to you. ✌😊

Thank you for making this video. What I’ve always loved about travel are the events and the food and interaction with the locals. I admit as someone that edits videos for a living, content can be overwhelming or sickening lol. This is refreshing. I love how you put this video together. Not over the top with the videography and not trying hard to be “cinematic.” I love the introspection when you saw some familiar places. Cheers to you. Also loved your van build I go back to that video from time to time. Cheers from the Philippines

It might be far fetched but ever thought of starting your own company converting micro van with floor plan that like your van? I am looking for a camper build like yours. It is very well thought out. I had stealth camped (Sprinter is not exactly stealth though) on Riverside Drive in Manhattan for over a month for work and have to say that stealth camping in the street is definitely an adventure.
