    I'd actually say that DS bundle was quite reasonably priced (for a charity shop). The Sims 3, Lego Harry Potter, and MySims have some value.

    You have to love charity shops and their now stupid prices. Can safely say I haven't bought anything from a charity shop in my town for several years. It's ok people saying they price the same as CEX but people forget CEX are that price because everything has a 2 year warranty!

  • @TVMReviews

    @TVMReviews

    Yeah exactly. I don't even see price matching going on anymore. They're more expensive than CEX

    Don't forget, CEX have to give a trade value, or a cash price too, so CEX aren't getting their stock for free, charity shops do and they get discounted business rates.

    @@gameshack1985 Well put it like this mate, why do we shop there in the first place? To get bargains no? I'd never be in there otherwise, I've always been led to believe they're cheaper than everywhere else, they're meant to help struggling families have something enjoyable too, they're meant to have stuff that aren't in shops anymore, because people give out their unwanted things from all over the place. So I don't get why they're so expensive... Basic T-Shirts in there now, aren't much less than a tenner, with sweat stains, holes, faded colours etc. What kinda bargain is that supposed to be? It's probably a tenner new in the first place lol. It's just winding me up everywhere I go. RSPCA has individually priced basic Xbox games, and a Barnardo's near me, have individually priced basic video game strategy guides, most of them are £3 upwards. Why can't each of them be £2 or something? I just feel like Charity Shops are entitled to do what they like, but their pricing should be 50% off or less than what eBay or retail prices things at. It's not like we're asking for £1000 items to be 50p, just be sensible and stop being greedy. The only people that really benefit from what they sell, are the people who get payed that work there, since the Managers, higher ups etc. all get payed, so it's just pure greed.

    My favorite price label is "goes for £XXX on eBay" in charity shops! 1. Charity Shops are NOT eBay 2. They are looking at the asking price on eBay not the "sold for". So YES, some do do their research...but trouble is people researching them are not the sharpest tools in the shed!! LOL!!

  • @DD93AFC
    @DD93AFC Жыл бұрын

    The prices are beyond a joke. I don't know if it was your video previously, but a KZreadr I watched said something like this, "people who shop in charity shops to resell, or for whatever reason, won't be shopping in there anymore, and they'll get less money", it may have been you TVM not sure lol. Either way, they're getting silly, I saw in a local shop maybe a couple of weeks back, BHF had squidgy kids toys, some DC type things, and others that looked like ninjas, literal garbage that might make a kid happy for a while. Each of them were a 5er.... £5...... LOL. Another local I have, they price every single PS3/Xbox 360 era type games at £4 each now. They always have a whole line on the shelf of them, was £3 each last year, the whole shelf line never sells. Imagine how much of that probably ends up in a bin.... But £4 each when they never sell, £1 price increase too lol, it's just silly. Those are just random examples, but everything is just getting sily at this point, doesn't even need to be gaming items, EVERYTHING is being priced up. I ain't genna go into detail about how I feel about this going on, but just know I'm not happy, and I don't think many other people are.

    Your Vinted pick up finds are so good. Everytime i look up similar stuff it's always fairly expensive/exactly what cex would give credit for. Not having ANY luck on there. Sticking to bootsales which im doing well on! Did find cooking mama DS in my local ish charity shop for 99p which trades in for £6 i think?!!😎 That's my best find so far! I've found a few DVD boxsets here and there from British heart foundation which usually double my money credit wise. Like i've paid £2 for some boxsets that trade for £4 & £5👌

    Charity shops well most of them now have an eBay researcher. They only look at the current selling price rather than sold prices. What they forget company’s like CeX offer warranty hence the price. The charity shops are missing out of lots of sales due to there ridiculous pricing.

    Great taste with the green N64. I also collect cart only games for the N64, I have a couple boxed but I’m far too fussy on condition to make a habit of it! I actually picked up an unboxed Pikachu N64 console (The one you don’t like haha) for below the usual selling price at CeX, marked up incorrectly!

    This isn't a ''know it all'' comment, this is a factual comment. I know NOTHING about electrics, components, repairs when it comes too PC's and older consoles. I love gaming, that's it lol. I'm 43, my pals are all around the same age, and one of them repairs anything and everything electrical as a job. He's 42 and been doing repairs for his own business since he was 21.... So he's pretty experienced. He said his work is booming, but as he worded it too me ''Ahh mate, don't be like these idiots that spend hundreds on old consoles, they're old for a reason, an when they break and they inevitably will, the parts to replace them cost a fortune''. He explained that the internal batteries, boards and chips inside consoles from the 90's till around 2006 onwards, are so sought after, so hard too get, that too order the parts in today and charge for repairs, you are looking around £150 to £250 at least. He warned me off getting an Amiga CD32..... because they are prone to the laser and reader dying, and replacing it with a used one is pointless, they can be about £45, but can die in days. A new laser/reader for a Amiga CD32, is over £100! plus the labour charge, shipping...... it is a joke. I wanted one for Burn Cycle and Cannon Fodder, and the seller wanted £280, my pal said i'd be a nut job if i got it, so i declined. If you spent that much on an N64 you saw in CEX, it could die in weeks and would probably cost the same again to fix it. I have too admit, the cost of retro gaming is repulsive.
