    Hi David. The new tools are great!!! I watched quite a lot of your videos ( unfortunately always missed the live sessions/webinars) over the last weeks, and imagining how difficult it must be for a professional, to explain over and over again all this stuff to us, you are doing a very good job! really, really good and understandable explanations and quick side comments out of the main topic. We not only learn how to process our pictures, we even get tips how to analyse them. love the way you explain, so we get what you are talking about, even if english is not our mother-language. thank you and keep on going, please. Same goes to Paul Reiffer!!!!

    I think I found an issue with the new heal brush - on a cropped image when brushing it chooses a "source" outside the cropped image , and the "head" of the chosen source can not be chosen - it's really frustrating. I have to uncrop and then recrop to find a way around it. It happens when you try to brush at the boundaries of a cropped image. Please fix this !

    Great video, but i have a question. You said that the healing tool could be used to clear dust spots on a lens for multiple photes, but if i remove the dust spots on one picture and then copy that layer to another layer the source points keep the same and it doesn't blend in well. Is there something to fix this. That capture pro one recalculates the sourcepoints for the other photo. Hope you can help!. Thanks in advance.

    I tried to make my crop into a layer, but apparently cropping is not currently "layerable". That would have make it a viable workaround, simply turning ON/OFF the layer containing the crop action. I'd like to see more actions / process layerable in future releases. Think of the flexibility it would provide. I'm newcomer to the world of C1, being a long-time LR user. The way I'm trying to embrace this new platform is to see it as a photographer-oriented Photoshop. I do not put any edits on the base default layer, but rather create layers for every edits I do. Initially, this was sort of a requirement for me as I was trying to figure out how to replicate the ON/OFF switches that are present on the top/left corner of every module sections in LR (I wasn't aware initially that you could hold mouse click on an item to temporarily preview its "idle" state. Nevertheless, even thought I know this by now, I still like the added flexibility that layers provide in replicating that ON/OFF section separation, instead of the C1 implemented mechanism of holding the mouse click on items. So to resume this long paragraph here, having almost everything "layerable" would, I think, make C1 even much much more flexible.

    The new heal capability is great, but why is there no visualisation aid to help you see the sensor spots that you need to remove? Sometimes the spots can be difficult to see and can be easy to miss (until you see them on that big, expensive print or in that album you have made). I have watched Paul’s You Tube tutorial on this, but a threshold type visualisation similar to that in Lightroom would be an essential for me: I use it all the time in Lightroom (literally, as a check on every single photo I process) and it picks out spots that would be missed if the only option is to take Paul’s approach, helpful though this is. An additional check in Lightroom is to put dehaze (another tool which C1 does not have) up to 100%, which is not dissimilar to the view Paul’s method produces, but often there are spots that the dehaze method misses, or that the visualisation tool misses (particularly in clouds). Neither method is an alternative to the other, they are complementary.

  • @marcbe001

    @marcbe001

    4 жыл бұрын

    Add my vote to that one. In C1, currently, you have to temporarily add a high-contrast template. It's doable, but feels more like a weakness workaround of the software, as this task is almost required on any shoot you will make... unless you reach a theoretically perfectly clean sensor...

    Hi Bo Ho, At anything less than 100% there is some scaling applied, so a "true" representation of sharpness is only ever going to be seen at 100%. You can also use the Focus tool if you want to examine specific areas for sharpness.

    Sure Capture One, but other previews are much sharper. LR for example allows the creation of 1:1 previews. Every preview in C1 seems very soft, especially on portrait photos, this issue is not visible on other editors I am afraid.

    Why can't I use the heal layer anymore? When I try to use it a new adjustment layer is automatically added above my heal layer, and I can't go back to my heal layer, so that I can't do any healing! If you can't fix this I must go back to Lr CC.

    Øyvind Holmstad The reason is healing has to happen in its own layer. So it makes a new layer to do the healing. You can’t heal on the adjustment layer. They blend just fine. You just need two layers to have an adjustment and for the healing. Lightroom doesn’t have layers. So to continue working on one or the other layers just click on the layer to do what you want to do. If you can’t select a layer then you probably need to check with support to see what’s wrong.
