Earlier today while Clive was brooding the CE's he did a test run with a fake feeding to both of them providing saliva to both of them. Clive learns quick and while he broods the next time he feeds both CE10 and CE11. It is so nice to see that Clive now has worked out how to feed both of them. Feeding done Clive makes his way back to brooding them but the CE's have other ideas as they both rumble a bit. Siblings will be siblings. CE11 is not about to let big bro/sis tell it what to do. * Connie is the Resident Female Eagle and has been around since 2009. The last estimate is that she will be 20 years old as of 2023.
* Clive is the Resident Male Eagle and has been with Connie since 2021. Clive's age is unknown but based on his arrival in 2021 he would have to be at least 8 years old or older as of 2023.

The nest tree is on an Island called Captiva just off the coast of Fort Myers, Florida. On private property and not accessible to the public, it is approximately 75 feet off the ground and 6 feet wide in an Australian Pine Tree.
On September 28 2022 the original nest was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. A new nest was built by Window To Wildlife in the original nest tree. Connie and Clive returned to the new nest and made this their home once again

Two eggs were laid this season but only 1 egg hatched on January 10, 2023. Named CE9 at hatched, CE9 was renamed Connick after Connor and Nick from Window Of Wildlife.
On April 4 2023 Connick fell off the nest. It was observed that Connick was losing flight feathers before the fall and most likely the cause of the fall. Connick was rescued by CROW and SCCF and eventually placed in the care of Audubon Center For Birds Of Prey in hopes of being released one day on Captiva Island once flight
feathers are grown back
𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐎𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐤: Connick has been deemed unreleasable and will be moved to the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C in early of 2024.

In 2009 a pair of eagles took over the nest on this property which used to be an Osprey Nest. In 2017 the property was sold and the new owners named the eagle pair Connie and Joe after her parents.
In 2018 Cams were installed for the owner's private viewing but wanting to share the Cam with everyone the owner decided to livestream it for Season 2020-2021. In partnership with AEF and Crow, this was made possible.
Season 2021-2022 brought change. The cams went live again but under the partnership with Window to Wildlife and CROW which is currently the same.
Connie and Joe had a total of 8 eaglets hatch since the new property owners purchased the property. As to how many eaglets Connie and Joe had prior is unknown to me. Early in 2021, Joe got into a territorial battle and was injured in the battle, and shortly after disappeared. As to what became of him, we do not know.
2020-2021 - 2 Hatched - Named: Peace And Hope - Both passed away from Rodenticide poisoning.

Perfect feeding by daddy. Chicks are learning their role in the nest. Animal etiquette, something all wildlife must learn. Doesn’t mean they’re bullying, or being hurtful. Domination is what keeps the species going. They love each other, such a loving caring family, with devoted, gentle, parents.❤ thanks, great video!

Interesting how much the parent eagle plays into sibling aggression.

@cataniamommaitalia87 Did not watch last season --but i would not sell an E Parent short in the 'Smarts' Dept. as oft times a feeding E Parent will feed first hatched first to induce a food coma in it and then is able to feed the second hatch freely. Clive is doing Ok here and seems to be feeding C11 very well when moving to a fish from the Ibis remains--C10 drops off into a food coma shortly into the feeding and we see it has a rather full crop buldge(prob from earlier feedings by Mom). I was surprised to see the Rumble at end as earlier in feeding C11 was getting large chunks of fish and it noticed C10 watching it, and laid it's head down on nest fluff to avoid a Well placed head bonk from it's older sibling.
