Фильм және анимация

Actually, Lewtoons, Captain Underpants got his powers in the third one, where he drank that milk from the lunch cafeteria aliens. (Wow, I can't believe I still remember that)

Actually, in the books, Captain Underpants doesn't get any actual superpowers until book like 3 or 4 when he drinks some alien juice.

Ya know, I recently reread the books (even though I'm well out of the age for when toilet humor was the only humor I liked) and I've got to say, I really enjoyed them. The books aren't ALL toilet humor. The writing can be pretty clever sometimes, making me chuckle out loud. So, I don't know, but I still really want to see this movie

yeah. i bought the 5 book set for my brothers before i took them. they were just as clever as i remember. and the movie translated that really well. it translated everything very well actually. it wasn't just a cash grab "make something stupid for kids and get a bunch of money" and not even look at the reference material. you could tell the people in charge and writers, ect, are fans of the books as well.

Honestly, I remember the fourth-wall humour being really prevalent in the books as well. I'm happy that it was translated pretty well.
I can understand not liking this. BUT HOW THE HECK IS "BOSS, DREAMWORKS AT THEIR WORST, BABY" HIGHER THAN THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE AND STILL AT NUMBER 1???!!!

So this is one of the few movies where "It's a kid's movie" is a valid excuse. Since it's still, well, actually good. But... clearly better enjoyed by kids

Which is stupid because essentially you're giving Studio Ghibli free advertising. I hope it doesn't deter you from making more countdowns in the future.

I was worried when this Movie was coming out cause I had a feeling people weren't going to like it cause of the Potty Humor. But I watched it, and I liked it. I loved some of the Jokes and Mostly the background Gags that I would catch myself being the only one laughing at them. Honestly, the Movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

@@starcourt4834 Welp, he is the man who praised Illumination Entertainment (as well as the wrong Sony Animation films like the Hotel Transylvania trilogy and the Open Season franchise, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs duology) or at least that could be a likely rumour) and treated LAIKA (by placing Kubo and the Two Strings lower than the top 5s on his list of ranking 2016 animations from worst to best) and other stop-motion studios like Aardman like people give it too much (more like "too little") credit!!
I love the animation in this movie though

Plus it's his opinion, and his opinion will sometimes be an unpopular one. It's totally cool. (I personally haven't seen Boss Baby, so I can't really say what I think about it)
I will say, I think you missed some of the messages that it did have. Like George and Harold grow up a little bit by the end by excepting that if they get moved to a different classroom it's not the end of the world or the main thing, that the only reason Mr. Krupp was sad, mean, and cruel was because he was lonely and how George and Harold help him in the end. Now it might of helped that I read the books, all of them in fact, but I thought they nailed in perfectly with the jokes and not just the potty humor. Like when the secretary is on hold the entire movie, I fond that hilarious. Last thing is I like how it was self aware because George and Harold were a little bit in the books. That is all. (And he gets his powers in the 3rd book by drinking Alien Super Power Juice.)
As someone who don't know Captain Underpants. I actually enjoyed my time. While the poopy/fart jokes only got a smirk or a small snort out of me. I have a weakness for 4th wall breaking characters so I was surprised seeing those two kids interact with us. :)
I think the problem people have with your listing is the fact that some opinions make it sound like you hated it, but you put it higher on the list, but then you praise a film, and it is lower on the list. Because to me, from the way things were said, Rock Dog SHOULD be the worst on the list (you haven't seen Spark, but I don't blame ya since it was a limited release) because it's a mess of a film. Boss Baby is also not that spectacular due to how tonally inconsistent it is and how you just don't care about the characters. Still, I enjoy these videos and I think it's a good idea that you do these since your channel is pretty much dead besides the occasional video and live stream.
I cant believe this and Lego Batman are under boss baby
My top 3 animated films of the year 1. Captain underpants 2. the lego batman movie 3. the boss baby

Great review, I really enjoyed this movie although you didn’t, but different people have different taste. Also, in the books Captain Underpants does not get his powers when he is hypnotized, so it’s the same as the movie.😄

He actually gets his super powers in the 3rd book from drinking super power juice brought by aliens invading the school. Not kidding
I genuinely enjoy your content so much! I especially love this series! Thank you so much for continuing to provide amazing content for us! :_)
U KNOW HE GOT HIS POWERS BY DRINKING RADIOACTIVE MILK
I was surprised how enjoyable this one was.
how is boss baby #1 over lego batman what the fuck but yeah i love this movie its prolly one of my faves from dreamworks
I seriously can't agree with you..
the books are fairly smart and "antiauthoritarian" (at least when authority is unfair and wants to repress kids). it was just disguised under all the "immature" kid humor. But thats why they were popular. the author knew what it was like to be a kid, and appealed to a kid's sense of humor without treating them like idiots or talking down to them. and i think the movie translated that perfectly. it was a really good, faithful adaption of the books. i'd put it up in my top 5 book adaptations
I always look forward to these videos. Love them Chad! 👍🏻
Always love your videos. :D
He gets the superpowers in like the 2 or 3 book
Can someone please tell me what the music is for this video.I know it's made by flashygoodness(the people behind rivals of aether's soundtrack) but song is it specifically?
good review as always. this movie has pretty good ratings and I was going to go watch it but I might just wait for it to come on DVD
Okay, what is this song? I looked in the description and well... It doesn't list it! Can someone tell me?
as much as I found the movie hilarious, I felt it would've been better if it were a hand - drawn animated series in the early 2000s. Heck, I could see this being on YTV or Nickelodeon in the early - mid 2000s.
Will you ever do a review on "Your Name?" It did technically go to theatres.
He gets superpowers in the third book, by drinking super power juice.
Why didn't you see Your Name? It played in Minneapolis starting April 9.
Well, it's better than I thought it would be. Kudos for that.
THough I guess I'm curious about one thing. You are so damning of this film's humor, but you defended Ice Age: Collision Course's abundant use of butt jokes when this film doesn't really use them a lot. I guess I don't see why this one gets the hate hammer and Ice Age didn't....you were outright saying "it's okay that these films have butt jokes and immature potty humor because kids like it" which was one of the biggest piles of BS I have ever heard. Just because it's a kid's film it doesn't mean childish potty humor is the only kind of humor they can have.....
The good news is that a ton of us people can actually enjoy this, as I'm pretty sure they're still making the books. The new ones are always at bookfairs.
Great review as always! Will you be doing the new Hey Arnold movie coming out later this year? It's the one I'm the most excited for!
Well that just happened I loved Captain Underpants.
1:30 Nope Lewtoons. It wasn't until Book 3 when he drank some milk...that had an alien liquid mixed in! (OK It may have been orange juice but that's not the point)
Do you have plans to review "Your Name"? it came out in April
whatever u say about the movie, the theme weird al sings for it is pure gold
Lewtoons are you a big fan of Xiaolin Showdown and Penguins Of Madagascar?
4:00 Wow. You liked BABY GENIUSES more than this?
I have a question: If you were going to do Every Animated Movie of the Year for 2015, what would the list look like?
no it was in book 3
Are you going to do Your Name? It came out in American theaters last month
+Lewtoons How do u make your video thumbnails?
He doesn't get powers at the beginning. In middle school there were these three series that I remember reading and being obsessed with; Bones, Dear Dumb Diary, and Captain Underpants
Chad, can you do a review for Cars 3 after the movie will be at the cinema (june 16)?
Yah the movie was an OK for me. We had a dozen kids when I saw it in the theater and it was strange. Like no one made a sound and I was sure that the kiddos would laugh a lot. Also who's decision was it to make it 3D?
Hey Chad, just an idea: How about next year you make "All animated movies of the year 19XX" (along with this series, I hope you keep up with it next year as well, cause it is great :D ) where you pick some random year and review all the movies that came during that year in the same format-comparing movies to each other. That way, you can help people discover some old hidden gems.
In the books, he gets his power after drinking a radioactive energy juice thing, and it happens a couple books in.
Lewtoons Random, but whatever happened to the computer that used to be in the videos?
I remeber when I was in 4th grade, my teacher got on to me for doing the flim-o-rama thing while I was reading one of the books.
Hey Captain Underpants had serious moments Like when Sulu died
Man though the Animation on this movie, spot on! Its so fluid and well done, aside from how to train your dragon, a really fantastic display of animation skills and transitions
in the book caption under paints got his powers at the emd of book 3
From what I recall, in the books, he got his powers in the third book from drinking some alien juice
captain underpants got his powers in the 3rd book when he drinks some juice
I loved this movie it sends the message to never let go of your childhood
can't believe this is so far the 2nd best reviewed animated movie of the year
The most realistic part in this movie is when Harold ripped the page during the Flip-O-Rama segment. That happened to me all the darn time!
what is the intro song
Hmmm... Maybe no one has mentioned this, but *Captain Underpants got his powers in the third book and not from the 3D Hypno Ring itself*. Surely, no one else thought to mention this...!
Yeah, 2017 is looking like a tepid year for quality in animated Hollywood movies. -_-
Well this is just my opinion. But when I saw this movie, I thought it was great!
Captain U. gained super powers in the 3rd book after he drank some juice from space aliens. Remembering most of this is a guilty pleasure of mine. Captain U. inspired me to write and draw.
One. The Lego Batman Movie - Great Two. Smurfs The Lost Village - Ok Three. Rock Dog & The Boss Baby - Bad Four. Spark A Space Tail - Bad Five. Surfs Up 2: Wavemania - Bad i haven't seen captain underpants yet but i hope that's good because as you can tell 2017 has not gone so well for Animated Movies so far
Wow, when was the last time you uploaded?
He gets super powers in the third book by super power juice which also gives wedgie women her powers as well. Since Proffesser P.P.P doesn't appear till the 4th book, it makes it really weird that he's fighting him in the movie with no powers.
With names like that, Mr. Poopy Butthole should've made a cameo in this.
4:26 That's not the point! I want a hamburger!
Captain underpants is Da best EveRRRRRRR especially that turtle that seen something that he can't unsee
See I was a kid who never got into captain underpants so when going to see this with my siblings both of whom are still in elementary school, I got a couple of giggles out of it. But I feel like it hit a point about 2/3 of the way through where the entire audience knew what the joke was going to be. Idk just my thoughts.
I feel like this movie is really made to feed into nostalgia. People who didn't really read the books or never heard of them would probably not find it to be all that great, they can appreciate the acting and animation but not really connect with the story. I grew up absolutely loving Captain Underpants as a kid, it inspires me to this day, however the nostalgia still can't cover up the fact that the movie was sort of lacking in plot. I feel like they were trying to reference to many things at once in this. But I still feel this movie couldn't have been made any better
I was smiling all the way through this movie, it was such a loveletter to the books I grew up with. I didn't think the fart jokes were funny but that's just because i'm 20 years old. Personally I thought it was a great movie i would definetely see again.
I loved the books as a kid and can't WAIT to see this film haha!
OK BUT WHY DO I LIKE THIS MOVIE'S ART STYLE SO MUCH
2:58 I don't know why but I'm freaking out because I have the same couch (or at least a couch with the same design as whatever that is )
So, I have to movie Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, and for God's sake, it came with a cape. A friggin cape. Thank goodness I have a little sister who loves the books. -yes i have- -to give up- -a part- -of my room- -for captain- -underpants books-
The movie actually does flesh out its characters unlike the book. One of the main driving forces behind the plot is George and Harold's relationship. I don't want to spoil too much but friendship and being able to laugh (especially at yourself) are very important ideals in the movie. They also go into why Mr. Krupp, and why he 's such an overbearing authority figure. Correct me if I'm mistaken but he was just a straight up bad guy in the books. Also you didn't talk about the theme by Weird Al Yankovich. This is an injustice I must point out.
Am I the only one here that never read these books? I do know a little about these books, but only what my two brothers decided to tell me and show me. Which was all potty jokes and the flip-o-rama thing. They thought it was hilarious and I thought it was stupid. But I guess I can't complain to much though. They never forced me to read them myself and it was the only book series my older brother would willingly read as a child. Good review, and keep up the good work.
Honestly, as I reread some of these books, I realized there was a lot of social commentary hidden under the toilet humor, at least in the later books
He doesn't get super-powers until a later book in order to defeat a super powered dandelion. He did have them by the time he fought Prof. Poopypants.
In the books the Captain drinks some Extra Strength Super Power Juice. The juice was originally going to be used by the evil alien lunchladies to super power a giant mutant dandelion.
I'm surprised. I thought you would dig this more. I really enjoyed it. I thought the animation was great and it made me laugh
When Chad said "Wonder Woman" I Thought it was going to be a 2-In-1
is it just me...or do George and Harold's voices sound too old for their actual ages?
Aw man. I was really looking forward to seeing Captain Underpants after hearing all the great things about it. 😔
You forgot spark the space tail
