It was my first introduction to classic movies, I watched it when I was around 11. When I saw it, I was in awe. The production was HUGE for 1935.. especially then unknown Flynn and de Havilland.

When I first saw this was 1989 when in Hungary stsrted Intervideo than i could see all Erol Flynn John Wayne and Chaplin classics. Very fine movies my favorite became Don Juan, Capitan Blood and all movies made from the books of Mark Twain..This music is perfect. I also like the musics of Max Steiner.

I have a lot of Korngold/Flynn scores that put a smile on my face. No more than this. Even though Errol didn't contribute a single note, he provided all the inspiration for Erich to excel.

Leave well enough alone. Too many remakes just can't match the original. And today's actors can't match the swagger and delivery of Errol Flynn. This movie is BEST priate movie ever. Even Disney took the early battle for Port Royal as a prototype for "Pirates of the Carribean" ride.

@@NavyBob1965 True enough good sir. If you enjoy real Rum, you absolutely must try Pusser's British Navy Rum, which is made in Guyana, in traditional Pot Stills, as it was made around 1665. British sailors were given a pint of Rum a day by their Purser up until July 31st, 1970, "Black Tot Day", as they call it.

True story-the Warner Symphony Orchestra heard here also played the music for most all of the WB Cartoons. The story goes that one day Jack Warner was passing thru the studio and noticed the orchestra sitting around doing nothing-they were between assignments and as they were all Union, they got paid whether they played or not. Its said that he exploded and said, "If I'm paying them to play, they'll play!". Enter the cartoon unit and Carl Stalling!

So this is the name of the music Dorothy Hamill skated to in 1976 Olympics. I was always able to remember the theme to her program, but never knew the name. Then I come here just to listen to Korngold, and I immediately recognized it as being from Dorothy's long skate program.
