As a 70s kid? Capt and Tenille brought me so much fond memories

Darrell is a hoot! They are both so grounded and awesome :)

you would think he would be an admiral by now ... He's been a captain for 35 plus years ....

I can't tell you how much joy these folks brought to my life back in the day. Fantastic performers!

A true southern lady..and Darryls dry humor...what a great mix...Thanks for the great music.

After watching many videos of these two, I understand now why Toni wrote her book. He had no emotions whatsoever. I think we were all in love with idea of them being crazy about each other, which obviously was one sided, because of the beautiful loves songs. I am so sorry for Tony.

Most relationships are lacking in some areas. They can be one-sided or off balance of sorts. It can never be perfect

Always loved the Captain and Tennille/ When they had their program on TV, I NEVER missed it. They make beautiful music together.

I loved this interview and how the Captain and Tennille interact. Very similar to my own husband and I and I enjoyed and laughed at their interaction. It's very sweet.

I love their repartee...they make me smile just to watch their interactions. Lovely people, great musicians.

captain & tennille actually sang a few of my favorite songs when i was a kid in the "70's". i may not know them but i kinda feel like they are part of my family. i love you guys. rock on "captain & tennille"!!!

Daryl is emotionally closed off. No wonder she finally split. Her grace and tact is what kept them going.. Can’t wait to read Toni’s memoirs. Grew up loving them.

They are wonderful artists! I love their music, muskrat love, dream, love will keep us toguether, and so on.....,. LOVELY!

Daryl and Toni are like my parents to me. My mom is 4 years younger than Toni. I watch this interview and to me it was like watching your dad and mom. I love them both no matter what happens because of this divorce. I remember them on TV when I was a little kid. I am from near Nashville, Tennessee and Toni is from Montgomery, Alabama. In my world, they will live on forever and no matter what happens, may God Bless them both. Like I said, I am only 50 years old, soon to be 51 as of this posting, and they will be like mom and dad to me as I grew up listening and watching them on TV.

If you watched any of the C&T dvds you would know that Toni has said repeatedly that she is very allergic to smoke. Her voice is as wonderful today as it was 30 yrs ago..rock on C&T!!!!

They never had kids, did they? No wonder they're still happily married with such a great sense of humor ;) Used to watch their show when I was "tween" back in '76. I was learning guitar in those days and although Jimmy Page and Brian May were my gods back then, I always thought C&T were amazing musicians.

wow, WHAT AN AWESOME story about these 2! I grew up with their music: the 70s were very sweet and "innocent", ONLY 'cause I was young & somewhat naive, but I LOVED IT STILL! I WISH I could go back to the 70s "innocence"! That Captain IS AN AWESOME Keyboard Player, SUCH TALENT FROM BOTH, OBVIOUSLY, 'cause they BOTH came from VERY TALENTED families, wow!

I always wondered what "dry humor" was....heard about it for years. Now I see it. It's pretty cool. ...

OMG I love them soooo much!

I was lucky enough to see them in concert several times over the years back in the 70's and 80's. I think I saw them 4 times in performance and I went to a taping of their TV show too. They've always been a class act. Also...Toni used to sing the National Anthem at the Dodger games and once someone asked me to move so she could see Tennille. I ran down those seats so fast to meet her. She's been SO cordial to her fans as has Daryl over the years.

Love kept them together.

Daryls real name is Daryl!! Daryl Frank Dragon to be exact. Carmen Dragon was Daryl's father, he was a very famous symphony conductor and the school is name after him. Daryl also has a sister named Carmen who is a wonderful harp player!

I grew up listening to them Cap and Tenil. What a great Marriage,real husband and wife, real voice.

Daryl was cute in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and still in 2007. :)

Toni is still cute and funny I love her!!

The Captain was always so interesting and funny in his own way 😀👍 I believe his Experience with musical instruments is Very Unique. I was impressed with how many he could play. RIP Daryll...I Loved ya 💜💜💜

30 years of marraige...really rare & beautiful to see esp in show business.

lovely interview, bit fast, but i find most are these days.yes,so sad to hear when people divorce, gosh so many years together,thinking they will remain close friends. myviews(below) captain is ill? ....CnT must be pulling at my heart strings or something, this is the most i"ve ever written on a comment.Bless those 2 happy people, for the body of work they have created.

The Captain is from my town (Antioch,Calif) They named a school after him here called Carmen Dragon which is his real name.

I agree with you too misshley. It is TOO SAD that nowadays, TOO MANY YOUNG kids are having TOO MANY little brats AND MOST OF THEM, DON'T even know HOW TO LOVE THEM, CARE FOR THEM, NURTURE THEM, GIVE THEM POSITIVE FEED-BACK OR TO BE PATIENT WITH their own babies! NO WONDER the world IS, HOW IT IS (child abuse, child neglect etc., etc.), geeeez, THAT IS TOO SAD.

+angelthman She did, but I think she was trying to stop Daryl from talking as the interview was ending. You can see Daryl is already suffering from some neurological disorder. Seeing him shake like that is heart-breaking :(

Darryl never gets a word in edgewise..is he really a man of few words? Married for 35 years, but not any more apparently as of 2014. Ok...I know she is the big attraction ion that act but ..Darryl, " just can't take it (her?) anymore at 67?".

They are truly amazing, what a cute couple! Still in love after all these years. They complement eachother in such a funny way...Interesting how Daryl came from show biz history...Luv their tropical shirts!!

I see she wears the pants in the family! She barely lets him talk and speaks for him! She would make a good talk show host!

no, it's true. toni told me all about it over coctails at the Stud Pit Saloon.

I agree with your comments. The man looks pretty good without the goatee or mustache. Some people look better cleanshaven than wearing any kind of facial hair.
