Captain America Steve Rogers was the first Avenger introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his story is in many ways the story of Avengers Endgame. Why is the Captain America final scene so thematically critical to the biggest twists of Endgame? In our latest #InfinitySagaRewatch breakdown, Erik Voss reexamines Captain America The First Avenger for all the new Easter Eggs we missed in earlier reviews, and the clever ways this film sets up The Avengers (2012), Age of Ultron, Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and even Spider-Man Homecoming. How is the villain Red Skull and mix of the Abomination from The Incredible Hulk and Loki from Thor? Where did Howard Stark get the vibranium for Cap's original shield if Wakanda was a secret, and was Cap's supersoldier serum derived from the heart-shaped herb? How is the evolution of Cap's shield parallel to the evolution of Tony Stark's Iron Man armor?

I always wondered: If hydra weapons are powered by the Spacestone, and everyone who gets shot just kinda vanishes, is it possible, that they just get teleported somewhere else?
@titan20111
4 жыл бұрын
JakuCHI 23 I’m assuming that’s exactly what happens, considering the space stone is primarily used to create portals in the MCU; This is also supported by the fact that Red Skull didn’t die at the end of Cap TFA but instead was teleported to Vormir.
@archangel5627

After seeing the Red Skull return in Avengers Infinity War, I started to think the same thing. All of the people who were shot by Hydra’s WW2 Spacestone weapons had to of been teleported somewhere else in space time. It totally makes sense considering the The Red Skull teleported to Vorimir after the events of Captain America The First Avenger.

The Teseract a k.a The Cosmic Cube a Cosmicly created container to fold Space and the energies Therein back upon themselves so that a whole universe wouldn't push away and destroy the current one contained and stored the power and was atphened by Arnim Zola to power hydra weapons like an infinitely charged car battery( primitive short sighted humans).

I was able to appreciate it after watching Winter Soldier. I now love it!
One of the the things I noticed from repeatedly seeing this movie (Cap is my favorite!) is the parallel between Red Skull testing Zola's tech and Steve's transformations scene. In the first, Schmidt tests the machine, Zola stabilizes it at 70% and Schmidt pushes it to full capacity to complete the exchange and harness the tesseract; the creation of the hero's main problem. In similar fashion, Steve undergoes the transformation by being subjected to the Vitarays. When Stark reaches 70%, Steve cries out and Peggy wants them to stop but Steve pushes through. The machine runs at 100% and the hero is created. A threat is created and a hero is born in response and they have parallel origins. The story telling is quite good!
The character that Laura Haddock is playing here is actually Meredith Quill's mom, Peter's grandmother! I don't know if that was the intention when filming, but it's at least been retconned to be the case!
Fun fact: The 1970 scene in Endgame is exactly 50 years ago today. (4/7/1970)

Another reference I caught from the scene at 10:33 was the fact that Rocket jokingly said, "Boom!" in Endgame but Howard Stark's tinkering actually caused the little chamber to explode in First Avenger.
During the rescue scene, the first “on your left” in a Captain America movie is heard at the 1 hr 2 min mark.
I’m starting to think you have a wager with someone to see how many times you can say, “BOX OF SCRAPS!!!” in a single episode.

This is basically confirmed given in both guardians films and agents of shield we see humans living in space with no explanation. Sure some of them could have been taken to space like Quill was, but there's simply to many examples of it in the mcu to write them all of. Given that Hydra probably hit a lot of people with their weapons it's a given that even if not many, a few humans would have ended up on hospitable planets.
@jimjones4345
3 жыл бұрын
@@kathradyne6801lol what ? that's not confirmed as cannon at all. There are little bits of smoldering ash and other pieces falling after someone is shot, I'd think its more likely they're dead. And the hydra weapons were used in 1940s, they'd all be very old or dead during the guardians movies .
I find it hard to believe that Stark would get vibranium from Roxxon, as the Agent Carter series established a long-standing rivalry between Roxxon and Stark
One thing I noticed, or hope we can get some answers on, is when Red Skull uses the weapons on the Nazi officers, is that when they are hit with the beam, they don't disintegrate, but rather just kinda morph out of existence. Since the weapons were using space stone energy, is it safe to assume that the Nazi officers were teleported to some random location in the universe, rather than killed?
When you realize ‘ *that’s America’s ass* ‘ will be MARVELS ‘ *i am your father* ‘

15:53 Yeah, of course it's possible. Alan Silvestre is the one who made the score both CA:TFA and Endgame
After rewatching these MCU movies, I realize just how much this movie has really started the mcu. Most of the great storylines in the universe were started in this film.
"You could have the power of the gods!" -Red Skull
11:57 I also think that’s why Steve says “I understood that reference “ when nick fury talks about Hawkeye becoming Loki’s personal flying monkey .
“What is grief, but love persevering” Vision learned from Cap

What I think Red Skull means by "I've seen the future Captain. There are no flags." I think he is hinting at Hydra's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D.
After the Team America reference, now I want a supermarionation Marvel movie.
0:03 ain’t that that same pose that captain America use to throw the shied at thanos at the start avengers infinity war & Endgame
Something I realized while re-watching this was when Cap is getting the vita rays, they stop for a bit when they reach 70%, just like Arnim Zola did when they were experimenting with the Teseract. But like Red Skull, Cap pushed through and went to 100%
At the end can you do a full timeline of the MCU
I loved this movie and I especially like seeing Dominic Cooper in anything. I actually just got done rewatching Preacher again last night.
Love the mentioning of Agents of Shield this ep. Any chance we can have more SHIELD eps for the final season??
if red skull is guarding the soul stone, who was guarding it before? and who told him the rules of aquiring the stone?

All the dislikes are from Hydra.
You missed when red skull was getting his picture taken the lights turned off and a second before they do you can see his real face
Could the "I've seen the future Captain, there are no flags" line by red skull be a reference to the Flag Smashers in TFATWS since Red Skull s now free of his service in that time line since the soul stone is somewhere on Earth. So maybe we could see the return of the Red Skull?
