I restored a Cub 1250 last year. Came here for the socket review and thought for a moment the browser had cycled in a video from back when I was rebuilding the tractor. Took me a min to realize you're just just a cool ass dude with good taste in sockets and garden tractors, lol. Good stuff.

I haven't used their chrome sockets yet, but I was given a 3/8 set of capri impact sockets for Christmas. I'm just a DIYer and use them on my motorcycle and car and so far I love them. I have been thinking about buying the chrome and different drive sizes as well to fill my box.

Good honest review of how a DIY person would use the sockets. They may not hold up like tool truck brands would but for DIY they get the job done.

So far, so good. I have a good friend whose a heavy line diesel tech, and he’s been using them daily for 3yrs or so, and he still stands behind their quality.

Been very happy with their 3/8 impact sockets, I got the shallow mids and deep at a great discount and have been using them a lot lately, and they are great, I love how thin walled they are

I was impressed with the angle wrenches, thin wrenches and their ratchets both 72 and 90 tooth. The sockets are ok but the same as you’d get from any Taiwanese set. I prefer the Tekton chrome sockets and the ratchets are about equal now that they’ve both gortten comfort grips. The impact sockets are about on par with Sunex so watch the price.

I gotta keep my Capri impact sockets well oiled as they want to rust but I won’t let them. New they came dripping wet in oil but I added Lucas gun oil to prevent anything further.

That’s interesting… I have a set of the 3/8” stubby impacts and they came dry as a bone…never seen a spec of rust on them and I don’t apply any oil…

DO you own any Gear Wrench sockets by any chance? I have been leaning towards the impact sockets myself for my spare set for the truck.

I'm just not into mail order tools. I like the parts store house brands teq-pro and now diehard at advanced auto and the very affordable evercraft at napa.(carlyle, is too good for me) Just because if there ever is an issue, they're right intown and can swap one out right then and there. 🤠

Here is what I have, and I am happy with all of them: A) Mostly Pittsburgh ratchets, but also have Duratech, Stanley and Capri. B) Pittsburgh metric and SAE combination wrenches (Husky filling the missing sizes), but at some point I want to upgrade to the Capri Wave Drive combination wrenches. C) Tekton metric and SAE flex-head ratcheting combination wrenches / 6 point (bought at the end of 2018 and no issues yet). D) Sunex 1/4" and 3/8" impact sockets / 6 point shallow and deep. E) Tekton 1/2" impact sockets / 6 point shallow and deep. F) Stanley 1/4" chrome sockets / 6 point, but eyeing Tekton 12 point. G) Capri 3/8" chrome sockets / 6 point shallow and deep. H) Sunex 1/2" chrome sockets / 12 point shallow and deep (metric only, due to not really needing large SAE at this point). I) Quinn and Craftsman screwdrivers. J) Quinn bigger pliers and Pittsburgh cutters and smaller pliers. I obviously don't know how much you will use your hand tools, but I am at most a Weekend Warrior, just working on my car and things around the house, but instead of paying big repair costs, I repair my own cars and appliances around the house, and build my tool collection with the savings, letting them pay for themselves. I don't buy socket sets from Harbor Freight due to if needing to warranty one, or buy a lost one, they want the whole set brought back, to replace the whole set, not single items from a set They also can skip sizes and I like master sets. I have also heard a lot of good things about Grey Pneumatic tools and return policy, but do not have any experience with them. No issues with any items listed above yet, but a little worried about the Pittsburgh and Husky combination wrenches rounding off stubborn bolt heads, hence the reason for the upgrade to the Capri Wave Drive combination wrenches in the future. I have come across some really tough stuff to loosen over the years, but have always been able to use impacts and torches so far to break them loose without rounding them off.
