Bawk is so on point about RE7. I didn’t actually play it until 2022 and I went in totally blind. That first 30 minutes was so delightfully terrifying and the rest of the game kept such an incredible atmosphere for me. It quickly became one of my absolute favorites of the franchise. That shit was majorly on track

I played through the entire game in VR on PC recently and honestly I wasn't impressed. It had some nice moments, but that's really about it. The story wasn't all that interesting late game, the enemies were mostly boring with little variety and the game is extremely linear for most part. Most of the exploration is an illusion, there's just 1 path to go. The original classic RE games had plenty of routes to take and alternate orders with different endings. With RE7 the endings come down to 1 late game choice and they kick you in the nuts with that as well since you don't get what you choose (the choice is between 1 or the other to survive, but the result is that 1 choice has both getting saved while the other one has both dying). Weapon play was awful as well. Went through RE8 straight after (also in VR). Story for RE8 was all kinds of messes and just awful, but gameplay was a lot better than RE7 and it did have more parts where you could explore a bit more... but it was still very linear. I'd rank both at the bottom of the mainline games, including both original and alternate versions of games and including even RE6.

Personally, the DRDR is a remake imo I think if you put it in a new engine and have to make new assets it's a remake even if you're trying to keep it exactly like the original. Compared to remasters that are just bumping up res, fps, and maybe add a qol update or two.

DRDR is pretty exciting. Haven’t played it since it came out on 360. Can’t wait.

Here's hoping the franchise goes off track again. Its current trajectory is too safe and boring.

The hype for DRDR is real. I can't wait to get all the achievements on Dead Rising again for the fourth time. They got rid of the 8 survivor limit, so maybe an achievement for escorting 16. New psychopaths, new areas in the mall. Maybe able to leave the mall into the town. Very cool to see cut content from the betas, alphas coming back to this game.

They even added zombies they cut and stuff from the beta like shooting cop zombies really cool actually

I didnt find re7 scary tbh But!! im propably immune because ive been playing re since i was 5. Lemme tell ya back in the day! Re1 and 2 gave me nightmares lol.

Ngl Frank West looks exactly like Michael Desanta from GTA 5 LOL. In the remake. All ya need now is Jimmy n Tracy.

I always found RE7 more funny than scary... it was just so hard for me to take mold creatures, or even the Bakers seriously. XD To be fair I haven't been scared of RE since the originals on PS1, RE2 in particular gave me nightmares as a kid and that was just from watching someone play it. Those games shook me to my core and I didn't touch them until after I played RE4 and RE5.

What a waste of a show. Might as well just be called the Dead Rising Showcase. No new content for RE4 No mention of RE remakes A passing mention of a “new RE game” And bringing RE7, the worst RE game to Iphone15. Could have done a base building RE mobile game, a match 4 gem puzzle RE game, or hell even a Fallout shelter type RE game for mobile but no, RE7.

I agree that this is disappointing, but RE7 is one of the best games in the franchise. It’s miles ahead of RE3R, RE5 and RE6, and is even better than Village

@@JackMorgan06 RE7 better than Re3make, RE5 and RE6? Are you kidding? If it didn’t have the RE label slapped on, you could mistaken the game for an Outlast but with RE Easter eggs and references in it. I side with Bawk that the game is ok for the first 30 minutes, but 2-3 enemy types compared to other games, and the game just being a slog to get through. It’s boring. You’re facing killer mold, bugs and a family of bullet sponges, with Jack just being a reused asset. Tired of people saying RE7 brought the RE series back to life, nothing wrong with RE6 except it was too ambitious trying to please everyone , still I would rather play 6 than “7”
