It always makes me tear up a little when the human canvas jury likens the mom's portrait to Leatherface right in front of her... regardless of the tattoo itself, it is of her face technically, so you basically just called her a monster. Seeing the mom cry when they say that breaks my heart. :( They seemed okay with the work and although it is a show and the work is meant to be judged, could have had more decorum in front of the model when criticizing it.

The tattoo artist that called her that, as well as those that agreed, should all have been let go. That was highly unprofessional.

I feel so bad for the old lady, she started crying because her face was voted the worse tatoo :(

Nah it was the leather face comment that got her, she took it personally but the guy was talking about the horrendous tattoo representation....not about her skin. Kile should go to jail at least some months for doing that tattoo. Whatever skilled you are technically, if you have zero IQ or even common sense, you can't be putting ink in people for eternity.

Duffy’s squirrel was so cute and well done for the amount of moving her canvas was doing during the tattoo process! Those other canvases was were so rude to her, like just bc you personally wouldn’t want it doesn’t make it a bad tattoo!

Same with the portrait of the woman's mother; it was not a traditionally beautiful image, but there was no reason at all to call that lady Leatherface. Especially with her sitting right there in the room.

Apparently the human canvas conversations that appear on screen can be scripted =O I saw somewhere that a human canvas (that participated in the jury) said that they even voted a different tattoo to the bottom than the one that got there! And they were fed comments by the producers.

I personally love the first dragon tattoo. They said its proportions are off, but it looks more like the dragon is coming at you. It has perspective to it. And how is it unreadable? You can definitely tell what you're looking at lol.

I definitely agree that it is readable but looking at the tattoo I think it's more so the shape of the dragon is more flexible than a dragon "would be" at that storyline. The guys should give him credit for having a tattoo look that good despite the guy having insanely easy to blow out skin

Honestly these judges are way too harsh and don’t take enough consideration for how difficult it is to pull of a tattoo on skin like that. It seems at times that the judges don’t know what they are talking about

The way they treated the old lady was heartbreaking

I do like the fact that the canvases defended their tattoo I mainly feel bad for the mother because she loved the whole thing if they hated it then they should have just said it's going to the bottom not throw all those insults right at her

regardless of the competition, if the canvas loves it, the artist wins. Their body, theit tattoo, their judgement is the only one that matters.

I mean, I didn't really see them going after the artist if the canvas defended their tattoo, so I do think they're taking the client satisfaction into consideration. Which is about the only positive thing I can say about them. They're a bunch of cocky jerks.

I feel so sorry for the old woman when she started crying.... the others could be nicer and more careful about what they are saying

most of them know nothing about the ins and outs of tattooing, and some of them have never even been tattooed. Its so stupid to have THEM decide whats worst, especially on days where the aesthetic isn't the focus of the main challenge

They should just do a box. Have the jury look at the tattoos. Then put their answer on a piece of paper and leave. Cause I really don't like the way the jury gangs up on one tattoo.

Nah cause you get to see how the people who got it feel. Even if what they say is stupid I think it makes sense to have it be there. It’s not like their opinions actually matter they don’t decide who go home anyway

Imagine how you'd feel if someone said a tattoo of your face looks like Leatherface. Even if it was a bad tattoo, that's still your face. I'm super upset about that scene omg. Poor lady!!

Once it's healed, it's going to look very close to the picture. He actually did a good job, ya just can't see it yet. I cried with that poor woman. I can't believe he said that. We all seen it, you didn't have to say it to her.

Scripted or not I wasn’t happy about that scene. I cried for her when I watched it. How can you say that to someone? I know they weren’t talking about her in general and just how the tattoo was done but still. They should’ve just said they put too much detail in it and leave it at that.

Duffys canvas was so angry, I was hoping she’d hit that one that told her not to make stuff up.

they were so awful about that portrait of her mom:(like it wasn’t a good tattoo but they should’ve worded it way better, it was really insensitive especially bc she was right there;(

Yeah they could've said the portrait tattoo didn't do her any justice. She looks better than that tattoo. I socks that she thinks the portrait looks exactly on point. If that was my mother, she wouldn't have been in that room or I wouldve asked for a clarification.

The lady tattoo wasn't bad at all, when the skin heals, it becomes lighter and it will look even better

No way was Duffy squirrel the worst that black head was way worse.

I hate people, they were so rude about something that the old lady was actually impressed by and stooped to the point of her making her cry and even continued insulting it after making her cry.

I think this video highlights an aspect of the shows main problem, which is actually giving the customer what they asked for. Especially because it’s free.. they should be allowed an individual take after the tattoo is done, for the artists sake That being said, great video

I honestly like the motivation behind Sausage's challenge pick. It may be a bit nerdy, but I think the bit he said about the separating the veterans from the rookies at the drawing table, essentially boils down to separating the artists from the photo copy machines, and as an artist myself I respect that motive a lot.

Why do they ask gasp and moan like it's the end of the world when they get the challenge where the canvases get whatever they want tattooed? That's literally what your daily life would be at a tattoo shop lol

Duffy’s squirrel was very cute and artistic. What was the big deal? I’m glad the canvas and judge stood up for her.

Man they can be so brutally honest in this show.. but in the name of art and competition it's all fair game..

I agree that the portrait of the old lady was a bit unflattering...but the comments were damn awful! Also considering that tattoos do lighten up a lot over time, it will probably look better after some months which is one of the most important things in a tattoo

Honestly, I'd care more about the customer's opinion than the jury. They're the one you're trying to tailor art to. They're the one who has to have it on their body practically permanently

He said it himself. Most of what they were judging wasn't solid, it wasn't meant to stay as dark as it was. But, that's the nature of the show. If it were me, I wouldn't want it judged until it was healed.

getting rid of the human canvas jury was the best thing they ever did on this show.
