    Looking to get the 16' tent for our family (2 parents and 5 children). I'm thinking it should fit us all since they all under 10. Thanks for the detailed in depth review and, most importantly, the 1 year later thoughts on it!!

    My Dad has a 1971 Coleman tent that he bought around 1974 used, think it is a 1971 model. Planning on camping with it in March 2023, lake Conroe Crappy fishing. The last time I remember camping with it was 1982 Kerrville Texas 30 degree weather. Love canvas tents.

    Thinking about buying the 10' version of this tent. It's just me and my Irish Setter. Great video, nice endorsement. My only complaint is that you did not show enough detail about how to install the vestibule frame. I have ZERO experience with putting up this kind of a tent and I am 64 years old. I understood everything else but that.

    Hi Mary, yes I apologize. There is a metal frame that connects inside the entrance way to a hole at the top of the tent vestibule and has a rubber cap cover. There are 2 small slots on each side of the vestibule entrance that the metal post connects to the you guy it out with one of the metal stake supplied with the tent. I hope this helps and sorry for the late response

    I beat mine up pretty good over the last year’s snowstorm.broken post which Teton replace but it suffered a rip in the canvas so I patched it up and it’s good as new. I do wander if a 20 would have been a better choice especially with my camp stove. Oh well maybe next time. Thanks for watching

    I see you're wearing a BSA shirt. Do you ever allow scouts to camp in the tent as a patrol? We've started a new troop and are debating if we'd like to go with dome tents per 2-3 boys, or a large patrol tent. I'm assuming we'd need the 20' tent for a patrol of 8 boys. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Hi Chuck, I was formerly a leader when my boy in scouts. I never used it for that application. But hey it’s a nice big tent and I will think for a base camp set up for leaders possibly . I guess it’s your call. I really like this tent for winter camp outs and that is about it for me.

    Did you sew the stove jack on? How is that holding up? I bought the teton Sierra 20 based off of your video,but just realized it doesn't come with a stove jack. Do you have a video on how you sewed the square stove jack to the tent?

    Hi Dalton, I cut out the hole and glued it with Gorilla glue that was made to adhere to fabric. It seems to work well. The glue is starting to peel away it I just re glued it. If I was to do it again I would have someone who is good at sewing do it . . Thanks for asking and also watching the video.

    Would the 16’ fit seven people comfortably, or would you recommend the 20’ Sierra tent?

  • @rayjsoutdooradventure1076

    @rayjsoutdooradventure1076

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Tom. I think seven would be really tough especially if you want a stove. If no stove and seven folks.. I would buy once and cry once and do the 20ft. We fit 3 men and cots and it’s a tight one. If it’s sleeping bags and pads on the ground it could be achievable. I hope this helps. Take care and thanks for checking the video out.
