Another great vid. Good advice about getting a guided tour of the cathedral, and skipping the Roman museum. Must re-read Canterbury Tales before going!

Thank you for the preparation effort and the tour. I'm so sick and tired of some people just walking around a deeply historical place and waving their mobile phone erratically - with no single word of commentary. And then, they dare to call that "a tour"! 🤬👎🙈 Yours is pretty good! One thing to mention, though: the museums are going through very difficult phase today; some of them are better than others, but I've never felt that I've wasted time or money, because those ancient items we see in them, are precious reminders of the lives from the past. In fact, that particular museum was created only due to the fact that a part of the city was bombed by the Nazi in WW2: all items in there had been unearthed by the blast. That fact alone earns that small museum a thumb up 👍💖

Thanks for this guide to Canterbury. I really enjoyed it. When my family went there, several years ago now, we had a great day out, but we missed a lot of the things you highlight. So, after your video we now have a good reason to go back and check out all the other 'stuff' you discovered! Cheers.

I visit a couple of times a year, staying at Folkestone. The bus ride between Folkestone and Canterbury goes through some beautiful and amazing countryside, either the Gold Rider or the bus which takes a little longer and sees more villages. Don't miss the boat rides when you're in Canterbury, or the old church which houses the Canterbury Tales experience. Evensong is free to attend every evening so you don't have to pay to enter the Cathedral grounds. If you just want to sit in the Cathedral and enjoy some very high church worship, it's an hour long service. The Sunday morning Eucharist is also an experience. The services are livestreamed on You Tube, too, and there are coffee and biscuits after the Sunday morning service.

You say Canterbury is the most well known place of pilgrimage for Protestants (outside the Holy Land of course. The Garden Tomb comes to mind) and you're probably right. But I've pointed out other places in past comments to your videos that I think are close seconds; Ulm, Germany (has the tallest church in the world which happens to be Lutheran), Eisleben, Germany (place of birth and death of Martin Luther) and Hipswell, UK (birthplace of John Wycliffe). Anyway, I thought to recap all those past suggestions because this video reminded me of all of them.

I can believe that it's rammed with students.
