Thanks for the info. It's very important to make sure your cartridge is filled up with ink, and sometimes it takes a day to settle after filling it. I have had no printing because not enough ink and trap air in the cartridge, that prints after a night of sitting in the machine.

Does this also work for a Pixma Canon 3522? It's very similar to this one as it looks like the same buttons on it.

I use to have an older Canon printer that all I had to do is click print anyway and it would continue to warn me I'd run out of ink but didn't totally cancel out the cartridge as empty and not print, surely there's a way to turn off the printer chip from keeping it from printing even though it thinks the cartridge is empty or low on ink. I know they've made it this way cuz they want you to buy more cartridges but it's insane the cost of cartridges and if you do alot of printing like I do, I learned early on years ago how to refill them but always had to tell the printer to print anyway and it's annoying, there's gotta be some way, a software thing or something that can cancel out the chip memory of the empty cartridges on these printers. I had looked into the printer with the wells that you fill and don't need cartridges but then I see in reviews that they don't last very long, some part in them goes bad on the tubes that send the ink to the paper and there is no replacement of that part....kinda shady crappy stuff is that when you think you are getting a printer you no longer have to buy cartridges for but then guess what, you won't be using it long and can't fix it either...so they get you everytime.

My TR4522 refuses to print tho I've refilled the ink and it did print fine with the new ink for about 15 copies ... I've taken the cartridge out then back in. Tried the stop button method for 5 seconds. Any other tips? O ram I forced to buy cartridges? Thanks!

I had a thought. And I have a lot of experience with a lot of electronics, chemicals, processing of chemicals, the aerospace industry was very good to me. So I wonder semicolon do I really need the sponge inside of the cartridge or can I get away with something more coarse? The sponges that are used in a typical ink cartridge, I'm sure they were well researched by the manufacturers. And this is probably their idea of the optimal way to design a cartridge. But I wonder if they didn't do it for the point of view of trying to sell more cartridges? You know consumables. I kind of wonder if you can get away with basically anything from a cotton ball to a sink sponge? Or maybe just a piece of paper towel? My understanding of electronics is pretty advanced I never had to actually investigate in depth how inkjet printers work. My basic understanding is simple, it's an electric charge it's super heats the fluid and forces it to eject on the paper. But where does it care where it gets a source of liquid? If the only place that really matters is how much liquid is in the heated area when the inkjet sends the command to heat that heated area, theoretically you could just have a tube feeding this printer. Now nobody wants to set up an IV system for their printer, but I'm wondering if you can't just tear the lid out throw a cotton ball in there dump the ink in and let the cartridge ink projection system do the rest of the work. You know this is something I think I'm going to try because I have an extra printer around. I'm about to throw out in a couple of cartridges. It might be an interesting little experiment.

I never understood the black magic photo printers have and somehow turn those 5 colors into everything with three little tiny lines.. like how do they know how much, when, where to distribute the ink on the paper and have it dry in milliseconds spitting out whole hd photos in seconds.. like where on that little cartridge or “jet” is the brain to make it take 1’s and 0’s then convert it to a hd crisp picture of some tits or something?!? Or how and who first figured out how to melt silica and get it to perfectly form a group of switches that can still mechanically move to switch with minute impulses all within an area of a few microns.. now they can do the shit where a single transistor is 2 nanometers meaning its so small even bacteria cant fit in between the ridges of the switch design.. like what devil did you let fuck your butthole to give you these powers?!? I mean try micro soldering on a smart phone motherboard., theres chips so tiny you cant see them with your eyes and a small breath can blow them away gone forever.. they can legitimately manufacture autonomous robots so small that they could simply land on your face and walk right inside the pores on your skin, walk right in to your blood vessels without puncturing the walls and go chill in your brain with the neurons and receptors to make you feel the best and be the smartest youve ever been as well as strongest.. fuckin beyond my mind..

People do set up IV systems for their printer - this is called CISS Continuous Ink Supply System, you can just buy retrofit kits. You can also get printers that have CISS from the manufacturer, for example EPSON EcoTank, the prices aren't even particularly shocking, though of course higher than loss leader printers. I mean this is a precision high manufacturing complexity device, any printer, and by all reason, printers under 200 dollars plain shouldn't exist, but they do and they cheat their way to profitability. The sponge is needed. If you just dump the liquid on top of the nozzle inner structure, the print head will leak the ink through the nozzles. The sponge suspends the liquid by capillary action and regulates pressure. Do not use fibrous material (paper, cotton) as a replacement, as the fibre will detach and swiftly clog the nozzles irreversibly. Replacement high capacity sponges exist, they have larger dimensions and possibly higher density, and with some luck you might find a suitable bulk material on your own as well. Not celluloid sponge. Dubious about kitchen sponge, the material is a random mixture low purity and low endurance. Remember inkjets are very sensitive devices that don't respond kindly to any particles, dust, contamination, dissolved solids that can precipitate out. Remembering how finicky colour photo inkjets with micro droplets were in the mid late 90s, i'm shocked the current devices with even finer nozzles work as well as they appear to. Your thinking that the sponge is an impediment to getting more ink in, is incorrect, the sponge wall structure only takes up a few percent of the chamber volume. Before every manufacturer settled on using sponges, there were experiments with spectacularly complex other solutions. They didn't work well at all. Yes the lid of the cartridge is sonic welded on but it can be cracked off for the purpose of replacing the sponge.

I am using refilled ink cartridges with a canon printer and when i try to disable the ink detection feature using the stop button it won't work smoothly it takes a day and a half so that the printer gets back to work regularly. Do you have any tips that can help? Thanks in advance
