The GX6021 I bought a couple years ago stopped printing all colors. It would only print black. So frustrating because I paid so much for the dumb thing. Rather than buy another $600 printer, I thought this cleaning kit was worth a try. The cleaning seemed to go as planned but when I tried to do the ink flush, I got an error code that said I needed to replace the maintenance cartridge. It would only print black and magenta. So I ordered a knock off $14 maintenance cartridge from Amazon (Aomya MC-G01 Maintenance Cartridge) figuring I'm in this deep so might as well try this too. Replacing that part was super easy. Just tried the ink flush again and it did not give an error message. Printed a nozzle check (expecting the worst) and it WORKED! I'm so relieved. Many thanks to The Printer Guy- not only for selling your cleaning kits but also for your videos. Very helpful. You ROCK!

I love the fact that Canon made the print head and the ink absorber box user accessible for easy cleaning or replacement. I'm deciding between this model and the Brother MFC L3750CDW

Thank you! I couldn't figure out how to remove and physically clean my print head without the printer rejecting the printhead after removal. This did the trick and now its printing color again.

I used this instruction for Canon Maxify GX6021 that I just purchased. I have not used for a few months,the printer stops printing color. I thought I wasted $500 on this piece of junk machine. Just completed the cleaning with the product was recommended,thankfully this clear instruction helps me a lot. Now,waiting for 24 hours as recommended to reinstall the printhead. Let ‘s if this video save me.

How would clean the place where you put the ink bottles

I have brother mfcj6545dw, i need a link to show how to clean head. Several colors want clean

I have cleaned it out twice, there is no liquid in it and it still shows full when I try and do an ink flush, any ideas?

Do you have a video to show the steps for the ink flush? I just added brand-new ink and the tanks are full of ink will I loose all of this ink? Please help @theprinterguy

Isnt better to do the ink flush while you have the solution wet inside the head than wait for it to dry?

Run a deep cleaning that should push Cyan into the printhead.

How about the cleaning fluid in the printhead???

You will need to shut off the printer for 24 hrs.

You linked to GI-20 bottles which are for PIXMA G7020 printers. The Maxify GX takes GI-26 bottles. This is a pretty glaring mistake.

Agreed! Ordered it and didn't read the description so now I have to send the ink back and wait two more days to get ink. The video was very helpful during this process. Thank you for making it. Please fix the link to the ink.
