Thanks very much, Orlando! I appreciate the feedback and support!
I totally agree with your judgment about Servo. I was terrified of this setting with the DSLR bodies that came before the newer EOS R bodies. Now, I use it constantly. Great advice on all the topics! Glad I found you from my Apple News feed and FStoppers

Thank you!
As the back-up photographer for a friend's wedding (and coming from a landscape only photography background), I appreciate the info and did learn a few things about my camera I didn't know before. I'm sure my photos will come out much better thanks to your tips. I'd recommend a few more tips (R5 specific) - make sure your autofocus priority is set to 'people' instead of 'animals', and bring extra batteries as the R5 is notorious for draining batteries quickly. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I use Godox A200s in my studio but mainly continuous lighting by Westcott and Nanlite.
Wait until you use the RF 70-200 2.8 It's the only RF lens I have since there's nothing wrong with the EF lenses and adaptor. But the new RF 70-200 is smaller and lighter and just beautiful. I hear the f4 is also fantastic and even smaller. But I like the 2.8.

@@PeteCocoPhoto I filtered the last 36 months in LRCC by lens used and by far it was the lens I use the most in my work. So that’s how I picked my first RF lens. I’ve already picked up 8 portraits used on a business magazine cover with that lens.

i use my ef 70-200mm f4L II with an rf adapter on my R5. awesome, awesome results. that said, ill definitely be picking up the rf f2.8!
How do you make the background blurry?
@PeteCocoPhoto
2 ай бұрын
You have to use a wide aperture (lower f stop number) and also a mid to tele lens. For example an f stop of 1.4 or 1.8 will produce blurrier background than f/8 or 11.
what about battery in servo mode?
@PeteCocoPhoto
Жыл бұрын
I've found battery life on the R5 not to be great in general regardless of what focus mode I use it in.
So do we put it in continuous AF?
@PeteCocoPhoto
Жыл бұрын
Are you asking how to put it on continuous?
Thanks for sharing. I've set up my camera and I'm ready to shoot..I'm going to be doing "this and that "😂. Remember the camera where the photographer looked down on the top of the camera?? I love that style. 🫶

I have an old Russian medium format camera that has a viewfinder like that. It’s a lot of fun to use actually and the shutter sound is very cool.
