@lookseekthink I'm a Canon girl so I would recommend a Canon Rebel for your price range. They are great, light weight cameras that are easy to carry around and use. But you also have to consider additional costs such as memory cards, camera bag, and perhaps in the future other lenses. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

@lookseekthink I haven't owned the Rebel before but I have friends who love it. I used to own a Nikon D80 which may be somewhat comparable, but my preference will still be the Rebel. If fast action shots are what you are looking for, I would invest money in some good memory cards. The faster/higher quality your card is, the faster it will record your image, then the faster you'll be able to take your next shot. Again, let me know if you have any additional questions. What lens do you have on your 5D

I discovered that you cant use it combined whit a flashlight and mirrorlockup.If you push the button the flash goes off ,the mirror goes up, and i still have to release the shutter.

Scored one for about a buck on eBay! Sweet!

The description states that it is compatible with the Canon D60, but it has a completely incompatible connector.

The EOS D60 is a different camera from the EOS 60D. The older D60 uses the N3 connector while the newer 60D uses the E3 connector.

you could try your luck with a knock off timer remote thingy (forgot canon's code/model name) these can be had from China for cheap and when it malfunctions…chuck it and get another ;)
