This did help a lot, actually. Nice and concise. I don't minding buying 4 generic batteries + charger (at half the price of 1 new OEM battery, no less) if it means I can always have a battery available.
Interesting, I always thought that higher is the mAh, higher is the battery duration, so it was supposed to 1400mAh last more than 800mAh, unless that "Wh" value makes difference in the calculations that I have no knowledge.
Where did you get the charges for the battery?

The canon was an LH meaning high out put. The generic was an "L". that means it's just a regular battery. Compare a Canon "L" with the generic "L". Apple to apples.

So the BSTE battery capacity is about 45/63x800 mAh = 571 mAh. It is only 41% from 1400 mAh. Not even half from specifed value.
