Such a great street photography video dude! New York is so full of life and different photo opportunities. I’m glad you’re part of the canon rangefinder fam bc I love shooting with my Canon P on my channel! Also they need film vending machines everywhere!

Hahah, excellent, loved the film street dispenser, our towns clams to fame was the first Durex street dispenser. And then you with the look of ripping it of the pavement when you thought it had short changed you. Fantastic blog 👍👍👍

The Subway scenes reminds me from the film: HACKERS ,or French Connection and you have a way of shooting like Robert Frank. BRAVO!! I notice that you also have the Jupiter 35mm 2.8, it seems that in Photo videos that they mention this lens, Well I have it too, but for my Contax II series, and very sharp, good for B/W shooting... Really Ribsy, Thank You Bravo..... ; o ) !!!!!

Been a little while since I've been there and you were probably too early, but there's a guy who shoots large format on the west side of Union Square Park (between 1:00 and 2:00 of the video). He's a fascinating guy to talk to about photography and the two of you would have made for some interesting content. Glad you're back in the States!

Bushwick is great for shooting, I go there all the time now. Manhattan has too much of a negative vibe for me, although it looks like you picked a good day to hit Union Square. Nice photos.👍

Yo Ribsy, are you still using the Russian 35mm on your Canon 7 ? I just got hold of a Canon P and i keep reading about focus issues with these russian lenses. I have only ever used SLR's and TLR's so i'm not familiar with rangefinders systems. I love the NYC footage. You need to do more of these street sessions.

I have have zero issues with my Jupiter 35. However I do zone focusing, I don’t really use the rangefinder at all. The lens itself is not wrong though

@@ribsy Zone focussing is what i'm after, so thanks for reassuring me that the range markings on the lens are correct. Jupiter-12 is ordered.

I know I'm old, but I remember when that area or Williamsburg was dangerous ... like 30 years ago ... I lived in Greenpoint and cabbies wouldn't want to take me back from manhattan ... they thought I was gonna murder them on Kent St!!!
