Canoe Sprint Kayak Double (K2) 1000m Men Finals. Full Replay from the Eton Dorney at the London 2012 Olympic Games, 8 August 2012.
In 1924 in Paris, flatwater canoeing featured at the Games as a demonstration sport. Canoe and kayak racing became full medal sports at the 1936 Berlin Games. However events were initially limited to canoe sprint until canoe slalom made its debut at the 1972 Munich Games. Slalom racing was not competed again in the Olympic Games until the 1992 Barcelona Games.

Omar A bc that's how different races go...I've been do I.g this sport for 3 yrs now and not one race has been the same amount of people

4 boats in a heat, this is a joke.. Ok they might be the best of the best, but are they really? With current model for qualification I don't think so, the best canoeist are left out only for the sake of diversity. If this won't change Olympics will become less and less serious and finally more of a joke than real thing. The best example was in swimming, where some black man was allowed to compete and he didn't even know how to swim!!!
