Cannondale M800 Beast of the East Retro Mountain Bike Timelapse Build
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I’ll be building this 1992 Cannondale M800 'Beast of the East' retro mountain bike that came up through an auction then a couple of people ended up with it, but no plans to revive it. Seams nobody wanted it but I thought it had potential to be quite a fun bike. With a bit of touch up, t-cut and a polish it ended up coming out quite nice. I used parts I already had and some Cannondale parts from a donor bike. The bike rides so nice, I've been out a couple of times on it now and it's definitely a keeper..

This is such good ride. I did 24 miles on it last night searching for old wartime pill boxes. Great fun...
very nice. Funny to see all the old XT parts

Love the old 90's XT bits! ha
Your content is good, I’d love to hear how you stumbled upon each frame and where you got the parts from as well as if they are period correct or not (not that it really matters), I’m just hooked on retro mtb rebuilds.

Hi, I buy them on various a marketplaces but some bikes aren’t mine. I pretty much stick to 90’s stuff because it’s my favourite era. Parts are usually 90’s and fairly close to the bike’s year but I’m not hyper obsessed with putting the exact part on it had when it was sold new, as long as it is close I’m happy. This one for example has XT groupset that was 4 or 5 years later than the frame. My theory on it is that it would be a period correct upgrade after you’d worn the original parts out. I’ll sometimes buy old bikes just for the parts it has and put them in the parts bin for future projects. Thanks for your comments 😊
Where do you live? I can't take off a fork on a bicycle
