Thanks for the video. This is my first time trying to can corn and your video really helped. I found another corn cutter on Amazon that works amazingly. It's called the chef'n cob corn stripper. I couldn't believe how easily it stripped the cobs. I got through 30 ears in maybe 5 minutes
They look pretty. 💕
I just bought that corn cutter. I want to freeze some creamed corn this summer. Here in Michigan it's not quite ready yet. But, I'll be ready when it's in season. Thanks for the video, now I know what to do.

Hi Mrs Lori, Corn looks awesome. I'll have to check on getting the corn cutter, look easier than a knife.
Lori🌽 looks delicious thanks for sharing 😋❤️😘
I found one of those a few yrs ago. it is a big help cutting large loads of corn. The only thing a person needs to watch for is to be sure the level of the knife just cuts the corn and doesn't take any of the cob in any way. it will make your corn taste cob. bless you both. love your videos and thx for inviting us all into your lives.

I noticed in the end photo your jars no longer had the screw on lids on. My Mom told me this weekend, that's how my Grandmother did it. Once they cooled she removed them and use them for her next project. I guess once the jars are sealed with the lids the rings no longer new to be screwed on. Thanks for sharing. 55 minutes. 10lbs pressure for pints. no blanch. got 12 dozen ears of corn I picked from a corn field in new market va. yesterday. hands sticky from shucking each ear with the sugar from the cob. its gonna taste good this winter. corn pudding ,vegetable soup, or beef stew. Wife told me I made a mess in the kitchen removing the kernels.
I dearly love that little tool! Your corn turned out well... love that bit of cream in it... even in "whole kernel". My story: I bought two of the corn cutters from the feed store years ago (one each for me and hubby). Only one got used (mine). Well in 2018 I had 4 bushels of corn that needed processing. Asked for help from Dave getting it off of the cobs. Introduced him to this cutter as alternative to a knife. Showed him (very slowly and in much detail) how to and how not to hold the corn while running it down the cutter. Okay, he was ready to help knock this corn out... second cut, he had his hand hanging off the end of the cob and severely cut the "fatty part" of his palm, on the "pinky side" opposite his thumb... cut it Deep, and bleeding like a stuck pig! Spurting blood everywhere! Wrapped him up in a dish towel and tore out to ER. 4 hours later, with multiple stitches on the inside and 6 or 8 on the outside, we got back home... with the corn waiting on me... needless to say, I had to take over ALL of the homestead chores, that required using his right hand, for the next couple of weeks... He's not allowed to "scrape" corn ever again. He's now the chief shucker and silker, and I handle the rest. Silver lining... since it was only the second pass, he didn't ruin too much corn with his massive bleeding. And yes, I still have two corn cutters, one that I use and one in storage for later use. I really enjoy your videos, every one of them. Make it a Fun Day. ~Sharon~

@@WhippoorwillHoller we do laugh about it now, while I tease him about going to such extremes to get out of helping with all of that corn. It's a lot of work invested by the time you get it to that stage just to ruin it by bloodying it up! :-) Be careful, 'cause it can happen.

I've seen that happen I think as long as you put enough water, dont overload jars with corn, I I personally think 55 minutes is too long for corn, changes the taste Xoxoxo
I have canned corn and frozen blanched corn for many years. The first time, as a new bride, 50 years ago I canned corn, filled the jars too full and some of the jars exploded all over the ceiling, walls, counters, floor and me. Glad you emphasized the 1 inch headspace for novice canners, it can be dangerous, trust me I know. However, now I blanch and freeze corn, 200-300 ears each August here in NE Pennsylvania. God bless you Lori, and you too Mr Brown.
