The world-famous resort, Cannes is a city and commune in the south-east of France in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Alpes-Maritimes department, which is famous for its international film festival. The Croisette Boulevard, which stretches along the sandy beaches, is home to the most elite boutiques and palace-like hotels. Cannes is home to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, a modern red carpet building. Near the Palace you can see the Avenue of Stars with handprints of celebrities.
