Perfect timing. I just got a Oase 200 Thermal based on a video you did a few months back. Thanks for tips on how making cleaning so much easier. I clean mine about the same. I do like the color coded hoses on your Aquatop Forza FZ9 UV. Great idea.

Great video. I really enjoyed it. I just bought my first canister filter, Aquatop Forza 3 UV. So far, so good. It's not totally clear yet, but it's been running about 24 hrs now, and it is a new filter.

Great video as always. I'm trying to figure out which cannister filter to get and I believe you had the one I want to get. Would love to see a review on your Oase. I was curious which model was it and what ended up going wrong with it? I'm a little concerned of all the reports I've been seeing about the 350/600 models purging air constantly because air somehow gets in the system. I have the 33gallon waterbox on its way this week and I'm wondering if the 800 biomaster would be overkill? Its a great price for black firday. The question is though can you filter too much? From what I've seen the GPH is about half what they advertise this is due to the rating being done with no media. So the the 800 would be about 400 "real" GPH @ 33gallons that's 12 cycles per hour. I've heard some people say 5 minimum and the other day I heard you really want 10. What are your thought on this. Thanks as always!!

George, I am a first time user of this exact canister in your video. We just did our first change and followed your video... thank God you did this one! I was so nervous and lost! So Thank you!!! I have 2 questions for you that i hope you get to see and will help me out with a response. 1) our UV light indicator is not coming on if we push the switch to I or O (btw which is on??? lol) so does that mean the UV light is bad already (only 2 months old on the canister). 2) Can you do a video on how to take apart the top of the canister and clean if this is something we should do and maintain PLEASE! The user manual seems to indicate this should be done as a 'routine maintenance' yet not very good instructions on doing it or how often is 'routine'. I really appreciate your videos... you are so good with detail explanation and steps and whys/why not's all included in a great paced video!!! Thanks again George!

I think you have a defective switch. Is the UV indicator light on? Also i have not cleaned that part and would not worry about that as much as the main canister. I is on O is off! Thanks for the compliment! Sorry it took so long but I have been out of the country. Again I would maintain your Canister but don’t worry so much about the top being taken apart. I will research it and get back to you. ❤️😎

Hi George, working on collecting equipment for my 65g discus/angel build. Petsmart currently has the Fluval FX2 on sale for the same price as the Fluval 407. Should I get the FX2 or is that too much filtration? TX

Hi! I am wondering how often you actually replace the filtration pads? I have a Forza 13 that has three white pads and one blue... or actually the manual for it shows 3 but I only received 2 plus the blue scrubber pad... I made a makeshift third pad and will have to order the right one. Thanks for your help! Also I have Orandas in the tank and the water seems to have debris even though it has only been a month or so... thanks for your input.

  • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto

You can continue to use those pads what you need to do is take them apart rinse them out in aquarium water and then just put them back in. Never replace them completely. You’re just killing off the good bacteria.

  • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto

I hardly ever clean mine less than once a year. If you are doing water changes as prescribed, then there is very little build up. Most of the time I will open my canisters and find there is nothing to clean. Check them if they start to make sounds that are not normal or if you see a build up on the hoses. And ALWAYS use Tank water during a water change to rinse your sponges etc. never straight tap water. Thanks for watching and please like and subscribe if you have not already!

Use water from the tank to clean in a 5 gallon bucket and also save some tank water out to restart the pump making sure all seals are tight and no leaks. Great filters and silent! Good Luck.

Good vid, but you missed a little something that many folk do not realise... Your pipework! Yeah, those very important pieces of tubing that takes your water into and out of your filter. If neglected they fur up. They get a bio-load build up which can, and does reduce your flow rate. Might be nice to offer info about cleaning then often, and maintaining your flow rate. Most folk just do these "Cleaning your canister" vids and forget to mention or show the cleaning of the pipework which really does reduce the flow rate if neglected. Clean canister every three to four months, neglect piping... Ordinary folk, and folk new to this hobby wondering "Why is my filter loosing flow?" Then choose to spend money on a newer/more expensive filter (Because KZread influencers said this is the best)... Nope! You just need to clean your piping from time to time. I clean my piping every month because it gets a build up of waste (you cannot argue with it, it will happen regardless). I clean my filter every three months (which is about the right amount of time for the Bio-load of my tank stocking)... Please, when you do these vids, give the more vital info alongside the "How to clean your filter". The pipework is also a part of the filter, and is so often overlooked. It will save folk many nights of wondering what is wrong, and save them a lot of money that would be better used elsewhere. Keep up the good work, and all the best!

@@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto Glad of the vid, did not mean to pour scorn... Just something that others seem to miss out on mentioning... It really is a big missed thing that can hamper the performance in a large way. I never knew about it until I got my first canister. I thought it was going south after a few months. Then I read the instructions a little deeper and it stated that the pipework would reduce flow if uncleaned regular by almost 40-60 percent... I was shocked by the percentage, and as such I do this monthly now which really does assist in keeping things working as they should. I honestly broke down the filter and cleaned it thinking that it was clogging up when it was not even slightly dirty. Glad that you will address this as I would hate to see folk spend hard earned cash on filters and or un-needed remedies which wont work. Keep up the good work, and all the best!
