Thank you so much for making a video for pet parents and their pet family. I will definitely be giving my dog these range of motion exercises. I know he will appreciate them. Kookie is very energetic. However, I would like to assist in keeping him happy and in good physical shape for as long as possible. Thank you for what you do to keep our furry loved ones healthy. :-)

Doing veterinary nursing studies and reading about it in my textbook (joint terminology of range of motion); I just couldn’t really understand without actually seeing it in action, so thank you so very much for this video. ♥️

Fabulous information 💚 thank you it's for a friend. I am a PT from UK originally but I live in Spain now. Very hard to find a local physio for dogs but think I have found a good team in Almería only an hour away. But as you say be in touch with your professionals. But I wanted to say how much I enjoyed your video and will pass it on. People like yourself putting up U tube videos are such a precious source of information . Big hugs and keep up the good work 🙏 ewe love our pets XXX and they love us back ❤

This was a very informative video thank you for this! Our vet sent us home with papers that tell us to do range of motion with our dog but no explanation of what exactly is required to do or how to do range of motion. Again thank you:)

Thank you for the informative video. My Wire Fox Terrier has DM, we had genetic testing and I am looking for ways to keep him as active as possible. I will look for a Vet/ Physical Therapist who can prescribe the best program. Thank you again.

There is a little brace you can make to help him walk better with his hind legs. Where are you based?

Can a dog with loose ligaments still perform range of motion exercises?

When we should start doing physio therapy after surgery?

It depends on the type of surgery - be guided by the surgeon - but generally to sooner you can start passive ROM exercises the better. Always check with the surgeon.

Do you do these with stretches, or is it best to do them a different time of day? TY

Joint ROM exercises can be combined with stretches at the time, or done separately. It depends on why you are doing them and what you are wanting to achieve. Post-surgically, ROM exercises are often prescribed. Stretches can be done on all dogs for general wellbeing for your dog or for preparing/maintaining athletic performance. It also depends on the tolerance of your dog to being handled! Younger dogs, or dogs in more pain or discomfort than others may benefit from having ROM exs and stretches done at different times of the day, or even on different days. I hope that helps.

Are these exercises the right ones for a torn ligament at the top of their front leg. Plus it is a Ridgeback, who is not using that leg at all.

If there is a suspected injury you need to have a proper diagnosis. Without a specific diagnosis I can't recommend these as helpful or not. If the dog is not using the leg I would seek specialist veterinary advice.

@@activeanimalphysiotherapyd7502 we did and the vet said she has torn a ligament. They gave us pain meds and said we must try make sure she does not walk around too much. Which is hard to do but she is now hopping on three legs. I just wanted to try and exercise her leg without hurting her hence finding your you tube video.
