Shouldn't Canik just sell a gun that works out of the box? They need to recall and fix this issue.

I’m not going to make this very long but clip 3 complete circles off of the striker spring, 2 circles off of the ejector spring , polish the inside slider face. All are pretty easy. The ejector spring is a little tricky because the button that you have to push right in back of the plunger will spring out if you’re not careful. But those easy things completely fixed my Mete SC9. No more failures to go into battery, no light strikes and no stove piping.

Just bought my mc9 back at the end of April. I was having out of battery issues using 124 grain nato rounds about 3 times in each magazine. I took it home, polished the feed ramp, sanded down and polished the feed rail, cut the recoil spring a tad, and buffed the polymer edges where it was contacting with the slide. Took it to the range yesterday and put 200 rounds through it no issue. 147, 124, and 115 grain and the mc9 ate it all up. Hope this fix holds up.

I am not an engineer, if I buy something and it doesn't work, I am not going to start cutting and replacing parts to make it function how it should. It's getting returned. Good video however and nice troubleshooting.

I followed the steps that this good friend explained here and bought the spring. Today I went to the shooting range and out of 100 bullets none of them failed or got stuck. I recommend that you follow the steps that he explains here because it worked for me with the Canic Mete MC9.

I have 3 Caniks. I’ve never had a problem with my Rival or my TP9 Elite SC. Only one I had a few probs with is my Mete MC9. After I trimmed a little off of the ejector spring and the striker spring. Gun is flawless. Runs everything now. Trimmed the spring after the first couple mags and now am over a thousand rounds with no issues at all.

I just got an MC9 and took it out to the range last week. Multiple light strikes. 1-3 almost every other mag. Ran same ammo thru my Rival S and my instructor ran the ammo thru his Glock no issues. I bought to be my EDC. I have sent it back to Canik for warranty repair. Will have to make the other mods when I get it back. I will not EDC with it til it has no flaws. Picking up A Sig 365 XL as a second EDC. I really like the Caniks and love the way the MC9 shoots. I just need it to perform if it is going to be my EDC.

I was looking at buying this gun. This video convinced me to cross it off of my list. I am not a gun expert. Would I buy a new car knowing as soon as I bought if from the factory I’d have to have it taken apart and corrections made and then reassemble it? I’d rather pay a little more and know that the gun I bought will work like it’s supposed to out of the box.

I got the replacement recoil spring from Century after getting FTF issues during my first trip to the range about 30 rounds in and I filed down the frame at the slide. It ran fine the next time, but I’m occasionally having it out of battery, so I’ll probably try a little more filing, though it was pretty smooth, and then I’ll try your additional fixes now that you are backing up what that other guy said about the striker spring. You also have some commenters who have adjusted their spring lengths with great success. Sounds like Canik spec’ed the wrong springs and/or got some bad springs from their supplier. Thanks for this video!

I bought one back in March and after 400 rounds I had the same recoil spring issue that was causing the slide to not go all the way back on mine. I fixed the recoil spring myself by cutting it with a dremel when it was overlapped. I also had century arms send me a new one. It's a shame though because I don't have full confidence in the pistol now.

Almost bought one yesterday had it in my hand then thought about the BS I went thought with the sfx I put it down. My sfx would fte 2 to 5 every mag . Canik sent me another recoil spring , no difference. Then I was told it has to use 124 grain bullets and finally after 500 rounds to just break it in it started working properly. I honestly love the gun now. But in the beginning I was making up curse words over this gun. I don’t need that in my life.

I’m using the hst rounds in my 12 round mag and they cycle through just fine. I went to switch magazines to the 15 round, and inserting the 15 round I racked back and the hst round did not go up the ramp. It got stuck. Would this be possible that I need to polish the feed ramp or would it be the mag or the rounds itself?

My MC9 shot flawlessly until 700 rounds, then the recoil spring overlap problem. New spring coming, but I doubt I will ever trust this gun for EDC again. I have full size and compact autos with 2500-5000 rounds with no such issues (probably should change recoil spring in 5k pistol), but I wanted a micro for carry. Will look for a more reliable micro auto.

So I have the same exact mc9,, and was having my rounds nose diving on the feed ramp. Contacted Century Arms and they sent me a new recoil spring. So far so good except for 1 failure to feed,,,but I just re-racked it and then it fired. I still need to shoot it more to test but what is your opinion on what I should do? That could have been the blazer brass 115 g round but I'm just going to keep checking it

Seriously Canik needs to fire their design people and hire you..I shouldn't have turn into a gunsmith to get a brand new gun to operate correctly..this is ridiculous even a $150 hi-point doesn't require all this..having to purchase dremel tools and attachments you might as well spend the extra on a 43x,hellcat,p365 etc.

Bwahahahaha! I guess the MC9 is still junk! There is no reason anyone should have to make modifications to get it to work right! Also, these problems you've had seem to be vary by gun. Some say 124g ammo is the only thing that works. In your case, it was what didn't work.. Canik should have had this figured out by now and should have made a production run change to get these working right. But to my surprise, they're still having issues.
