    The breeder i got loki from, she'd left her female in her bedroom and male in the other bedroom. She went to work, got home, and both doors open to the bedrooms, and the two dogs were asleep in her bed. The door knob was chewed off the bedroom her male was in, and he was jumping on her bedroom door so much, he had stripped all the paint and wood off the door and surrounding walls! He tore both doors apart. That's insane! Males will do anything to perpetuate the species! She thought her female wasn't quite ready yet, well... A couple weeks later, those visual symptoms and to the vets... Well she was pregnant! She only had 3 pups in this u planned litter. She breeds a few females, but only breeds once a year, she thinks it's best, and I'm not complaining, i got loki from that unplanned pregnancy!

    I saw you had another question I think but it is deleted? Chevy is in there with Phoenix and Chevy is the weirdest formentino color we have ever seen. She has the grey mask and lime down her back but her fur is really dark and almost looks blue. I thought it was maybe a disqualification color but luckily it isn't just very strange.

    She had a large litter of twelve pups and she is a smaller Corso female. They sucked all the fat off her and she looked emancipated. They said it is better for her to fully recover nutritionally and weight wise so she should skip a litter. Otherwise she could have issues with nursing the next one. But her risk of pyometra goes up which they said is the lesser risk of the two. Does that make sense?

    I don’t believe they feel pain but I’m not 100% sure tbh. I do find they have temperament changes and can be moody or needy. Lots of hormone changes happening. If I did walk her I’m ready for another dog or wild animal like a coyote. I would carry a fighting stick or an animal shock stick. Some heats I don’t even bother to take her out, just playing on the property in the fenced in part.

    One more question, sorry for all the blabbering, phoenix, is she a light blue coat? Or is she a deep Red? Everytime i see her, her coat is amazing too by the way, i think, oh OK she's a lighter colored blue, but then her coat shines and the light reflecting off her, makes her look like deep red, she's just gorgeous, no matter her colors! But I have wanted to ask and thought, that's a silly question, you're looking right at her! But i really can't tell, and i bet its just the camera and maybe my laptop screen too.

    Yup! If the male is bonded to the female it is usually up to 14 days. I find day 6/7 of heat to day 21sh. Sometimes no matter what I try. That’s why I send my make to the sitters. Now that I just have my male and his daughter he maybe only goes crazy for 3 days and I can control it. So some factor on how much they like the female I would assume?

    My male dog has chewed through the door before due to a female in heat, he made a hole big enough that he could bust out lol. !! I used to think people were lying when they say their dogs had an accidental litter but, for some reason my female went into heat like twice in 2 months and long story short, I heard yelping coming from the garage early the other morning and they were stuck!! He broke out of his kennel and was able to get to her. I did have plans on breeding them but not so soon. It happened on the 6th and she was 10 months old!! She is 90lbs even and the male is 127. Do I need to worry??

    I would definitely seek out a strong mentor and reproductive vet. The good news is she's 90 lb which is a good weight. But she isn't done growing yet so you want her to get on good supplements to support so it hopefully doesn't stunt her growth or hurt her in any way. The pups steal everything out of them. There may also be a small chance of some health issues with the pups when they are younger but likely nothing major hopefully. Then finding homes can be a bit tougher since they can't be registered until the dam is 18 months or older. I will be praying everything works out well!

  • @canecorsochronicles510

    @canecorsochronicles510

    2 жыл бұрын

    It’s so hard to know in the beginning as they could have a silent heat which means no physical symptoms or even a split heat. You should start to see her vulva expand and swell as physical sign #1 if it is not a silent heat. Then anytime in the next few weeks her heat will start where you will see bloody discharge. The male can give hints by sniffing her pee and remarking it with his own, he can also try to keep smelling her too. Following her around, etc. The females often reject any advances but one you see their tale flick to the side that means they are welcoming a breeding and it’s likely time. Day 1 of bleeding is typically not a concern because they are not yet fertile but likely by day 7 they are. It all depends on the female. They should never be together unmonitored at this time and you should make arrangements for the male to leave as soon as you see day 1. Once you get to know her cycle and if it’s regular you can wait until day 3-5 but everyone I know who said they will chance it their first time always ends up with an oops litter. Even expert breeders who’ve had to leave for something during a heat have had accidents because the people watching just don’t get it. These dogs will go nuts to mate. Does that help?

    @@pennyronco5809 typically the males don’t eat or drink as their sole focus is on breeding!!! You have an amazing friend as most don’t want to deal with the mess along with the females heat. Also make sure your friend will not allow any male dogs near and has a secure fenced yard. Just check on her daily as the time gets closer and you should see it coming. I would also ask your breeder when your pups mom’s mom went into heat to see if there is any variation. For example, my female is very predictable but her pups were not! Many took after their grandmother who only had a heat once a year. Most of our pups only had a full heat right at 2! So it can all depend!

  • @canecorsochronicles510

    @canecorsochronicles510

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes she is definitely too young to breed. Best practice is waiting until they are at least 2 years old. and the reason for that is because they don't stop growing bone-wise until 2 and if a female has to nurse puppies it could considerably impact her development. when Phoenix had our first letter I was shocked at how much they took out of her and she was basically skin and bones by the end of the first four weeks. When they are that young they are often at higher risk for c section and other complications. at that young most people will actually terminate the litter if they accidentally get pregnant because the high risk. Does that make sense?

    What color are the parents of the male and female? Blue and blue brindled are both dilutes. Depending on the lines you could but blue dogs are subject to increased skin issues so it’s not a good idea to breed dilutes. It can be done if their parents are not dilute but some breeders don’t ever do it. Just depends 🤷‍♀️

    I only worked with an animal behaviorist so most of their training is based off of wolves, I don't know what is right or wrong but it is whatever works best for you
