it might seem like that, but i don’t think you dislike it because of that, if i may say that. I think the “too much” impression comes from her not being precise with the rythm and the pitch and was out of breathe, not having enough control over the dynamics either for everything she wanted to do.

Yeah…. I didn’t like it. I ain’t never heard so much oversinging in my life. C’mon people, just sing and capture the essence of the song! I feel like the first girl kinda set the tone for the oversinging. She has a pretty tone but she needs to be more tasteful with her choices because it got annoying very quick. I love Jaden but this definitely one of my least favorite vocal moments. Stevie kinda saved it but eh. They shoulda just let Jeronelle sing

Stevie makes it a safe space to explore and try things vocally, actually he encourages it. I applaud anyone willing to get up there and attempt a masterpiece, especially in front of thean who wrote the song. Candace was fantastic, they all were. 🔥🔥🔥 I would never say anyone was rough if I'm not up there singing myself. Singers get better by trying things. No one is just born to do a riff or run without practicing or try notes blending with the melody or chords.
