What bothers me is how hateful people have become if your own beliefs differ from theirs.

There’s a difference between support and respect. Just because you don’t support or agree with someone’s lifestyle/choice etc doesn’t mean you won’t respect them. They think if you don’t agree with them it means you’ll bully them and it doesn’t.

Agreed and she said its a Christian network, why would she center a family that does not represent what the bible identifies as a household. She can incorporate the LGBTQ community, and not compromise her beliefs of the Traditional Family. People “disagree” about pizza toppings and movie choices. On a larger scale, people may disagree about things like political issues and medical decisions. But when it comes to someone’s actual identity- who they are- it’s not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. One cannot simply “disagree” with someone else’s identity. “I don’t agree with who you are” isn’t a thing. That, my friend, is blatant bigotry. And you can’t mask that by saying “but I still love you” 🙄🤮 Yes, everyone is entitled to their own personal beliefs. But if someone’s beliefs literally hurt others, they should expect backlash.

She just said the way the network would be run would be based on a traditional marriage and union. How is that bad? It’s a Christian network. It’s not even up to her. Folks who are afraid to come out and be open about who they are, or worse - kill themselves - don’t do so just because of blatant and overt hatefulness. One doesn’t have to point fingers and say “I hate you!” to hurt someone with their beliefs. We still live in a world where living their truth is oftentimes believed to be wrong, and that *does* affect people. I mean, actual LAWS need to put in place in order for people just to have the same rights as the rest. How insane is that?? It’s STILL, in 2022, not legal in many places in this world. And, here in North America it is still a topic of debate in politics. I don’t think anyone can comprehend how that feels unless they are the ones who have to constantly defend their identities. So when someone stands so firmly on the “traditional marriage is the right way” belief, that literally does hurt people.

As a African- American Woman who is attracted to the same sex I can honestly say I respect her decision and I stand by what she believes in. Even though I have a life partner I find myself not a part of this new community because it's so outrageous. This community is more hateful than loving. You cannot force people to believe in what you believe in. Respect is not given it's earned. I miss the days where we could just be gay LOL why isn't people just gay anymore. And again I am a lesbian so don't come for me

I work with people who are in same sex relationships and i have nothing against them. We all get along great despite our differences. I wish it wasnt so brutal in our world now with everyone trying to force everyone to share the same beliefs. Im christian and im not going to shove that down someones throat. Trying to create a safe space where there no images of things you don't agree with is not just having a belief. It crosses over into bigotry to me. Queer people exist. I agree. I have concerns about Candace's statement as to why she switched networks. I believe she did because Hallmark is featuring same -sex couples. That being said, if Candace decides to change networks and this network airs whatever it airs, that's their business. We need to be respectful. Period. GOD bless. 🙏❤️🤟🤟

This is just a reminder of how much social media has impacted society. I may be a millennial but I am One who was raised and taught in the values of society when there wasn't any of this technology there is. When people actually wanted to take the time and help someone who needed it, a friend, a neighbor.. No one has those beliefs anymore!!! It seems like a lot of people are too dang stuck on themselves and thinking they are better than others. We all have to struggle through many obstacles in this life, some, more than others!! But as with me, I try to see and make the best out of everything. I don't like most things either... I accept it though and I just wish for the best in who those people are and what they are going through in their lives!

At this point us humans dont even have the right to have an opinion or thoughts. Just because even if we say i dont agree with something in the most polite way possible we still get hate .

My entire childhood my mom and grandma loved the Hallmark network. Especially enjoyed it at Christmas time with all the holiday movies but now my mom doesnt care for it because over the years they introduced more characters that didn't align with her beliefs... and that's okay! My mom and anyone else doesnt have to support their lifestyle... doesnt mean she wishes you any harm or out here committing hate crimes. People in that community should stop expecting acceptance from everyone because it will never happen.

It really is that uncomplicated. I wouldn't watch it on a bet. I'm very progressive, leftist, everything conservatives are against but it's her projects. If she's not being hateful, let her make the projects she wants to make. Let LOGO and other networks do what they do. Same way with the cake fiasco. Don't bake a cake for a gay couple if it's not a belief you hold and you are a private business with no public funding or tax breaks. I wouldn't want to be forced to make a cake for Westboro Baptist and you couldn't make me. If you're a big company that gets state or federal breaks or taxpayer assistance, make that damn cake. You're an individually owned pharmacy that doesn't want to dole out morning after pill or birth control? Cool. I won't shop there but Walgreens? You need to fill it. Yep somehow Black people managed have black colleges and black networks but it never works the other way around as far as discrimination goes. That’s always seemed very weird to me. I go to black churches all the time most the time I’m only white woman there but it doesn’t bother me, if I enjoy their worship, I go anyway in heaven, there will be no labels

Do you know the reason why there are just black churches, black networks, and black colleges? There was a time called segregation, Jim Crow laws. Black people couldn't go to any college or churches or grocery stores. Because they would be lynched if they did. So black people built their colleges, stores, etc. So at 1 time, it was just only white stores, white churches, white banks, etc.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you'd never see same sex marriage on a Jewish network, or a Muslim network either. Why would we expect it on a Christian network? It's viewed as a sin in many religious backgrounds. It should be their right to religious freedom to choose what they show on their networks. Agree to disagree respectfully and move on. There's plenty of same sex content out there in movies and in shows.

As a lesbian, the reason what Candace said is problematic causes more people to exclude lgbtq people. It is 2022, there is no reason for someone to base their religion on why you dislike a group of people. As a lesbian, who is she to exclude people. That is the equivalent of someone making a take that if you are x, y, or z race you shouldn't be on a television show or recieve the same opportunities. You could make the same argument, watch how many people will stand up and say how wrong that is. We are the minority of a group. It is important as a group that does not fully represent society, to stick up for ourselves and community. Justifying hatred for religion is such a low. So what this interviewer did was leave out a lot of what she said to stir up trouble for Candace surprise surprise. And another thing just because somebody doesn't agree with the way someone lives their life doesn't mean they do not wholeheartedly love that person and want the best for them it just means they think differently.

Candace has a right to her opinion like it or not, just because she feels differently doesn't mean her opinion is not valid

Religion should grow the fuck up. We’re not living in the ancient world when the Bible was written. They need to stop acting like that book is show to guide for the modern world. If Jesus was alive today, he wouldn’t be obsessed with guns and hating gays. The Bible barely touches on that subject anyway. People need to stop hiding being their own prejudices. Just own them. If you don’t like gay people, own it. So they can all avoid you.
