At least she gets better in the 2nd half of the season. Having Stacy to bounce off of and doing nice by her parents (mom's birthday, helping the boys in getting Love Handel back together, her in their dad in the monster truck) rounded out her character and showed she can take a break from busting.

My personal opinion is that especially very early on in the show is that her crush is over exaggerated for comedic effect, don’t get me wrong it is still a very abnormally strong crush, but later on in the show they actually become a very healthy and wonderful couple.
