That you read from left to right and top to bottom (edit: switched) is a linguistic thing, completely unrelated to mathematics. Mixing the two up when teaching, leads to more confusion than understanding.

Literal doctors were banned from KZread for saying their opinions on the pandemic. Their opinion based on real life medical practice and what they had seen so far.....the information they gave proved true over time. They were right all along. But they don’t get their voice back. They’re still banned. Because they spoke against the big tech narrative at the time. There’s literally thousands of cases like this across many topics.....whether you end up proven to be right or not, you shouldn’t ever have your voice taken away for speaking out against anything. Just on the chance you’re correct. Even if an idea was wrong and never to be proven right at a later date. The way to combat misinformation is with better information not silencing. It’s genuinely a dark time on KZread....and pretty much every form of media

Actual ex McDonalds hiring manager here. We paid under 18 people less just like this McDonalds. The reason why is because if you are under the age of 16, your hours, what jobs you can do, and how late you can work are all restricted by the government. For example, you couldn't go into the fridge or freezer, operate the grill, climb a ladder, pick up anything over 10 lbs, work more than 20 hours a week,or work past 6:45pm on a school night (the time restraints were less during the summer). When you are over 16 but under 18, the restrictions were much less, but there were still some time restrictions. I'm not saying it's right, but that is why they do this.

A reason people might store their books with the spines facing the inside of the shelf, is the pressure keeps the pages from splaying and warping the spine. Its a good idea to have a at least a few books turned backwards on your shelf to balance pressure along the spines of the book (hard cover or paper back)

The thing about the alarms is actually SO annoying. Anytime you ask a voice assistant to set an alarm, like a one time thing (which in itself is actually pretty handy), it creates a completely new alarm and doesn't have any mechanism to remove it afterwards, and then you can never find the recurring ones you actually care about. Agh!

In France there is a law that just went effective about animal abuse (sorry for the bad English i'm French). You can't buy animals online and in petstores anymore, you have to adopt or buy from professional breeders and you also need a certifcate of "knowledge" (so kinda like a license for animals like Pewd said), I don't really know how to translate it but the goal is to make people realize taht buying a pet is not like bying a vacuum cleaner...

There's more, he's having us stand at the entrence to greet costrumers, with one hour intervals, under four hours (11AM - 4PM). Now staff is miserable and some have already left. It's the same in Australia school. Pay for our lunches if we don't pack them and go to the cafeteria. In some schools they just serve out of a small kitchen not a entire room. You either eat in the class room or outside where everyone plays (eat first)

I remember in middle school this kid couldn’t pay for his lunch so the lunch lady took his food and put it back and gave him a chocolate true moo and a small two pack of saltines and said “this is the best I can do for you”. I stg I think about this all the time. She really had to take away his food and put it back in front of all the kids in the lunch line.💀

This whole pandemic we’ve been hearing “omg you guys are doing so well thank you so much for being there and keeping us running” and not a single mention of an incentive. No bonus, not pay bump, just a constant thank you every few months from the store owners as they have us push to make more money for them and they stay home/go on vacation :)))
