Canarsie FAM 2024

Videographer: Natalie Romero, natytechnicolor.com.
Folks across three generations came out to the 2nd annual Canarsie Festival of Arts and Music on Sunday, June 23, 2024, 12-4 p.m. at the 86th St. stage in Canarsie Park. Reflecting together on the theme of "Home," they enjoyed a cross-cultural program of performances and hands-on workshops in "Other" Rican, Caribbean, African diasporic, and Colombian music and dance.
They personalized "Home"-themed Canarsie FAM event tote bags to take home, selected free books for all ages from Brooklyn Book Bodega, sampled free sips and bites from local businesses Steph's Cake Shop and Canarsie Blend, and made their mark on the centerpiece of "Coming Home," Brooklyn FAM's year-long participatory public art project co-led by artists Jessica Elena Aquino and Adriana Gramly.
What a joyful day in community!
