When I lived in England and had a garden, I would empty the tea pot outside the back door every morning. That pile of tea leaves supplied me with red worms year round and what a bait it is. Very enjoyable video - cheers

It’s good to see a top flight angler pushing more natural venues. For decades focus has moved to muddy puddles, yes it’s provided accessible fishing for all and all the top match men have made decent money from commercial competitions, but that fishing when you were a kid feeling has been lost. I’m not too bothered about anglers pushing products they are sponsored by because we are all tackle tarts at heart, but there is definitely a swing away from commercials beginning to happen. Let’s face it, match fishing started on Natural venues, canals,rivers,lakes etc. Cheers Jon for putting a little something back into the scene. You only have to look at Angling clubs snapping up leases of Canal stretches. The silver fish in these stretches are as big as in commies now. Since COVID. Angling has exploded. Thanks Jon Arthur for plugging stuff like this.👌

Thanks Steven, I just like mixing things up and could never just fish one venue as I get bored too easily!

Another lovely video John, you do show us all the technical aspects and explain what you are doing but it always feels like we are fishing with you. You've got a really good style to camera, always giggling to yourself. Always a pleasure to watch a what a fantastic bag of canal bream that was.

Very nice roach, and a nice bag for a few hours fishing.

Really enjoyed the video,like the pick & mix cupping kit & proper fishing.I forgot my cupping kit one day so cut the bottom off a coke bottle cut two holes in it and like you put it on a top kit worked a treat

Love canal fishing, great video as better than watching a carp puddle session.👍

Well done JON brilliant video &well put over see where you are coming from not too feed to much all those fish in such a short time.

Looking at your all your pots in a line on your pole makes me think either you or your dad had a Cortina or maybe a Escort with two banks of spot lights !! Lovely watch, cheers.

Another great video Jon shame about the pot but you come up with a good idea. It a shame that not a lot of top anglers do canal fishing. Well done on your fishing.

49:50 how can you be so calm with the boats …. It did my head in living in Stoke as most of my fishing were on canals in the 1980 s and 1990 s. Then I lived on a narrow boat for 4 years 😂😂😂

I dont get skimmers/bream, you get the ones that fight all the way to the net, jumping out of the water and all sorts, then you get the lazy ones that just 'eh cant be bovverd' and float in.

what a great net of fish jon ive learnt some great stuff of you and still do but i didnt think i would learn the pipes lol is this the end of the cupping kit as we know it lol top man top angler

You didn't even say anything under 4 pounds is a skimmer ??? No fun aside great fish and nice video now even bigger from a big river that would be the hammer. Thank you very much for your efforts and I hope for more. Greetings from Northern Germany

Jon due to your vlogs I've tried spraying my top kits white/grey just as you do I don't know if it has made a difference to my match fishing but I have had some successes it got me thinking if the idea of spraying a top kit is about not spooking the fish have we not already done that at the cupping in stage? Why don't we spray the cup kit including that pot I see so many different colours and in addition to this what about the toss pots makes me think anything above or near the float area should be sprayed? Would very much like your thoughts on this as I know at your level any advantage can make a difference kind regards Neil

He uses Dacron connectors. You can see one at 5:25 on his quad cup top kit.
