Canadian roots songwriter Jay Aymar visits Maud Lewis's replica house in Digby Nova Scotia (2017)

www.jayaymar.com
Did you know that there is a true-to-scale replica of Maud Lewis’ house, just outside Digby, Nova Scotia? We were so excited to learn more about the life of one of Nova Scotia’s most renowned folk artists. I'm a folk songwriter who writes songs about the people I meet and the places I see. Maud Lewis is an inspiring figure and I'm glad that we found this little replica house. Check it out.

Good memory for me of my visit 13 years ago. Did 20 minutes of unedited including some quotes by Murray Ross. There is just one sign by the road and it's a long ride to the replica - almost to Maine LOL. Murray retired about 15 years ago from scalloping out of Digby and is about my age (68). I didn't know there was a barn to paint in or even a trailer. I think I'll call Murray because I read he offered this house on the Lewis homestead but it was not going to be properly relocated. It's good where it is though. I hope AGNS GRANDFATHERS HIM COPYRIGHT for his copies - since he did know her. Murray knew Maud and did errands for her.a few times. I hope the movie does as well in the U.S. as now in the Provinces.
