It is time to address the dual citizenship tax conundrum. If you use our healthcare and support systems, full taxation regardless of tax agreements with your nation of residence. We are not your doormat and most of us are done being polite.

I work in a barbershop where several Lebanese barbers work & they do not pay Canadian taxes. They only accept cash so they dont havd to pay texes here. They spend their money on expensive items & send lots home to their Lebanese families.

Millions of part-time Canadians. They get citizenship and free health care, then go back to their warm home nation for 6 months of winter.

Thus is BS. Canadian taxpayers on the hook for " Canadians " in name only. Make them pay for their own flights!!!!!

Zip it how many Ukrainians did we take in? How many Israelis? How many Syrians? How many Africans? How many Indians? Shut up and sit down popkawski or go back to Warsaw.

If they don't have money for tickets and are Canadians I am curious why they aren't in Canada. This seems to be a running theme. We have so many Canadians of convenience. Come stay long enough to get citizenship then leave go back to the country they want to live in until something goes wrong and then say I am Canadian come get me out of the situation I have placed myself in. If they are reliant on the economy of Lebanon to be able to afford to get out, that sounds like they are living and working in Lebanon, not Canada. Absolutely go to visit family, but if so many people are not actually living here but simply using the passport as ticket for services when desired then maybe we need to rethink our processes (have needed to for a long while in fact).

I totally agree. I'm an immigrant myself & I'll be the first to say, if you choose to go back to your country of origin despite the situation, then it's all on you. Canada does not owe you anything. These people are just milking the system & it's enough now.

I wander where is that woman who complained at the last evacuation that on the evacuation ship there was nobody to serve her drinks.

No room, food, or housing put them way up north in the hills. No cities they are used to that environment. Or Let Egypt or another Muslim country take them. I think canadians should start refusing to pay taxes.

canada has universal healthcare not free healthcare you pay for it with your taxes and guess what people with duel citizenship do pay taxes to both country's (unless the two countries have a treaty/agreement which prevents people from paying taxes twice)

Dual citizenship is fine but if you move back to your home country, you are that country's responsibility rather than Canada's. These are Lebanese citizens living in Lebanon and paying taxes in Lebanon. It would be different if they were Canadians , living in Canada and paying taxes here who happened to get trapped overseas while on vacation.

Even with dual citizenship, you are only a citizen if you actually live & pay taxes in that country. So if at the moment they are living in Lebanon, and paying taxes there, then they are not Canadian, so no Canadian right or protection... people have become too entitled & our Government too gullible/scared it seems. I'm an immigrant myself & have never gone back to my birth place, and don't plan to even if things get better there. These people are taking advantage. Canada needs to stop being so nice.
