Advocatus Diaboli The iowa, if it still active, would be equiped with advanced anti missile (not on aegis level) and with their upgraded armor, I think everyone would need a luck to sink the battleship. If i'm not mistaken, uss new jersey received the CIWS block 1 already before its decomissioning

Do you realize that most of the US ships in the exercise were probably older. The Halifax class were put through a refubishment upgrade not long ago. Yes the are do for replacement, but they are still quite capable.

Love all the people commenting how great all these U.S ships are. Meanwhile I’m just reading them like: “yo, a bunch of those are Canadian ships”.

I've seen videos like this before where different crew members or even civilians are given the chance to shoot the Browning .50cal at balloon targets. It's not easy as the ship is moving forward and pitching a bit, but still a lot of fun for those involved. Those auto load and fire weapons are meant as short range weapons for anti-small vessel and anti-aircraft defense. The real punch are the missiles carried in the hull, those are long range weapons and are very accurate.

It's harder to hit a small target bouncing on the ocean waves while you're on a moving boat than you'd think it is. That's what volume of fire is for
