Canada's Worst Nightmare: Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka (Crime Documentary)

DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! → bit.ly/2CwckC3
-
They were both young, blonde, and in love, a seemingly normal, perfect couple. But what Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, did in secret in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada would elicit fear and panic in young women everywhere. Known as the "Ken and Barbie Killers," because of their good looks, Bernardo and Homolka raped, tortured, and killed at least three young women.
Bernardo was a cunning and manipulative businessman who used his sales tactics to entice female victims, and his crimes only got worse when 17-year-old Homolka entered the picture. Karla Homolka was an active participant in the murders, and even participated sexually alongside and with the girls, mostly for Bernardo's affection and at his urging.
Paul Bernardo was arrested in 1993 when his DNA matched a sample from one of the rape victims. Worried that her own involvement would become known to the police, Homolka scrambled to get a lawyer and arrange a plea deal with prosecutors, an act that became known as "The deal with the devil."
Bernardo and Homolka attracted worldwide media attention when they were convicted of raping and murdering teenage girls, including Homolka's own sister, Tammy Homolka. Karla Homolka served only twelve years in prison for her part in the murders. Today, she lives a normal life with her husband and their three kids and and people are furious. Homolka has not been placed on Canada's National Sex Offenders Registry.
This harrowing documentary about Canada's worst nightmare makes you wonder what sort of people the world is made up with. Share, subscribe and leave a comment.

I have a good friend who lives in Canada and knows pretty much how the Canadians feel of this. There are groups who have made it their lives mission to track her wherever she goes and post that info so she constantly feels hunted. She has moved several times due to this. They make a point of her having no peace in her rotten life. I myself can't believe she married her lawyers brother and had 3 kids with him. What in the hell was he thinking? Not a far leap from her sister to her kids. Wait until these poor innocent kids get older and people tell them of her, especially the teen years. They will be bullied, shunned and they did nothing. If she has any soul for her kids, they will be homeschooled and spared the pain of paying for her.

Had she not met Bernardo she never would have committed these crimes. She was a literal teenager when they met and he was a grown man who had full control over her. Had the police seen the hidden video tapes that Bernardo had his lawyer retrieve prior to trial, she would have gotten more time. She is guilty. She is also a victim. People don't understand the duality. She served her time and is not a danger to society. Bernardo was also beating the hell out of her to the point her brain slammed into her skull and also locked her outside in the backyard shed for extended periods. At that point she probably thought "its them or me". Guarantee he would have eventually killed her too.

There are shots of her that are absolutely creepy. I remember one of the authors who wrote a book about the case got to see the videos of the sexual assault, it might have been Kristen, and he said that at one point Karla looked like she was demon possessed. I think that is interesting in light of the fact that she dabbled in the occult or witchcraft when she was a teenager.

I don’t understand how her plea deal wasn’t revoked once the tapes came to light, and the horrible things she did were revealed. The tapes totally contradict the level of participation that she claimed to have had while securing her deal. In the U.S., plea deals are revoked once it’s determined that someone lied. I’m assuming that either plea deals work differently in Canada, or the courts willfully disregarded the extent of her involvement. Can anyone in Canada educate me on how the laws work there?

This is Canada’s worst serial killer and she gets out after serving 15 years. That child is going to find out about her past through people coming forward and telling him. Wait tell he finds out how sick and twisted he’s mother is. That could harm him for the rest of he’s life. This horrific crime still haunts me today. Traveling to visit a friend on Dec 26 1995 my car broke down on Highway 400 just outside King City Ontario. I was in my twenties and there were no cell phones in 1995 so I had no choice but to walk back to a truck weigh station with a payphone I had just passed. Several cars stopped as I walked along the shoulder of the highway, all men and I said no thank you. I was 20 ft or so from the payphone a white van pulled up with a man and woman inside. They asked if I needed help, but I was already at the payphones so I said no thank you. These 2 monsters were already off the streets, but it made me realize how quickly I would have taken help from a couple had I not been steps from the payphone. I would have never suspected the woman was a monster. While Karla should have served a life sentence for what she did. She lied, and for that I have faith that she will suffer a long and painful death with no one by her side.

Neither one these two are extra worldly good looking so I'm not understanding the insistence on drumming away on that. Of course, I will never understand why anyone would mention the looks of any perpetrator. Are there people who think only ugly people commit crimes, or that it is somehow correlated to the severity of the crime - that the worse the crime is, the less attractive the assailants should be? I mean, these girls aren't any less dead, and their deaths no less tragic because (allegedly) attractive people killed them. Would it be more heinous if uggos did it? Less heinous? I'll never get why people, or basically the media, talks about the looks of criminals. All that said, it's pretty obvious that but for Paul Bernardo, Karla Homolka would not have killed any of these girls.
