Ойындар

The great sock pursuit will be told for generations
Also the new project zomboid foraging system is pretty freakin awesome!

We all knew Grilled Bear's forest madness was getting to him when all he would talk about is chipped stones, his wife Kate who he had never previously met before, a definitely live squirrel friend, and his pet fish named jeremy taking on the form of a chameleon.

I feel like somebody needs to make a little mod (Or, you know, the devs could add it) that allows us to build survival shelters with, say, a whole load of twigs and tree branches. It should give worse quality sleep than an actual tent, but it's better than sleeping in the open in the middle of a forest lol. Another cool idea would be to be able to upgrade it to make it more comfortable, and keep you warmer while you sleep (could be applied to normal tents too). Like if you find some clothes, you could essentially pad your shelter with them lol

One of the mods I use often, not sure which, allows socks to be separated effectively doubling the ripped sheets. A combination of mods (if a needle could be found) allows a sheet to be made from ripped sheets and a tarp to be made from sheets. Lime is using one that allows sturdy sticks to be made from branches so a tent can be made. A mod that might not even work anymore allowed chip stones to be made from stones, so that would solve that too, but a bivouac mod would be cool. Maybe dig a hole (hands?) And cover it with logs and branches?

@@nerfherder4284 Yeah I'm aware of some mods that expand the crafting chains, and a fair amount of stuff (like making string from ripped sheets) makes reasonable sense, but other stuff like being able to make a tarp is pushing the boundaries of believability. And I think it is important that some items can only be looted; *but* I think it's also important that those "apex items" have lower tier, craftable alternatives in most cases. The lootable items should always be preferable - but if push comes to shove, you should be able to invest a fair bit of time to make a shitty alternative.

There is a very useful mod that lets you take grass from the ground and a chipped stone for twine, and also with a hammer you can chisel nails from chipped stones. It’s called craft nails and twine and I usually pair it with foraged saw that lets you make a saw out of a tree branch, either kind of stone, and a clean rag.

I'm going to start my very first Project Zomboid adventure soon, and this was exactly what I wanted to try the first time. It seems better as a first try than getting into an urban situation with no practical experience. I will be watching this with great interest.

Actually if you just take it slow you won’t have to much to worry about in a town. Set the population to low and practice the cities it’s a great and scary ass experience lol

I find the marsh mallows superiority to the common ones. Especially roasted on a graham cracker with chocolate.

I'd like a new feature where if you have shoes on, but no socks, you get chafing on your feet which can then lead to bleeding and infection.

You fishing socks and shoes out of the river was interrupted by an ad break...which was a PSA about trash in the oceans, oddly enough.
