The semi-wet surface would be ideal for impressionist landscapes where the greens are less intense and are greyed.

I use clear gesso and the Daniel Smith WC don't pool at all, in fact, they just act like Watercolors but more intense.

Thank you for your tutorial. I bought a watercolor set (I usually use acrylics, or aerosols or alcohol inks or acrylic inks or markers of various kinds) and I wanted to try something with watercolors and your video let me know I was on the right track. Blessed Be 🌛🌝🌜

Interesting! I normally use it with acrylics. So, in way, one is creating something similar to gouache then? Thanks for doing this!

Really? I know gesso is great to prime the paper, even the cheaper one, we called it pak - for packaging , brown one, big rolls, cheap. Works great for acrylics and gauche ..I like how watercolor look on dry, for some effects this looks great, plus it will not bleed through the sketchbook . I need to get more Gesso.

Thank you. Here is a question to you. When the water colour paper is ripped can you use gesso to safe the art work? Have you tried this once, please tell me. Thanks to you again.

Can you get the same effect with semi-wet Mod Podge?

Hi! Thank you for your question. No, clear gesso and Mod Podge are very different. Mod Podge is more glossy and will resist watercolour.
