I've only ordered once from the Warehouse. The record was generally OK, but obviously opened. I felt lucky and haven't tried again.

Based on my experience, you lucked out.

Did the Amazon description mention anything about the scratch or packaging damage for the 2 bad “good” records? Usually they mention something like this (example for an Out of the Blue tone poet record in good condition): “ Medium mark on disk. Moderate cosmetic damage on cover art. Item may come repackaged.”

That's the thing, they seem to use mostly generic cut and paste descriptions. I don't remember what the Sonny Clark said, but I think it was the same thing the two that came in bad condition said. I do recall they all said "Good". The problem is, it's all subjective. "Good", "Very Good", "Acceptable", "moderate cosmetic damage". These all mean different things to different people especially record collectors. Even "mark on disk" could mean a scratch or it could mean a scuff. I've ordered them again, plus another Tone Poets record (that record was actually listed as "Very Good"). We'll see how that turns out. Watch for that video sometime next week.

Amazon now requires seller's to box vinyl individually. It's an added $1.13 cost to the seller.

I’ve ordered albums from Amazon, not the warehouse tho. I’ve only had one bad experience, a Men At Work with some hard white substance that must have been on the stamper. It’s about the size of a quarter. it’s unplayable. No biggie since I have an original pressing of it, in decent condition.

That stinks. At least you can return it to Amazon. I don't know how willing a local record store would be to a return like that.

Absolutely smoking albums though. Listen to that Don Cherry and let us know what you think before you send it back (starting with track 2 I guess, lol). He gets pretty free but I love it. The McLean and the Sonny Clark are five star albums. Great choices.

I've actually bought a disturbing amount of jazz records that I'm going to give my outsider opinion of. I'll probably do it in two parts, because I've bought so many, plus, one of my Blue Note orders won't ship until June. I actually reordered those two from Amazon Warehouse to try a larger sample size. If this order is a fail, too, I'll just buy retail copies.

I was listening to "Blue Train" yesterday and my wife comes in the room and says, "You're listening to John Coltrane now? Who are you?" I've gotta keep her guessing.

I plan on picking up something crazier than Don Cherry. I won't be able to listen to it with people in the house. haha...

Not a complete video... you still have no idea of the condition of the most important part of 2/3'rds of your purchase... the vinyl of the other 2 records! Pretty good chance the Destination vinyl is also trashed... Buying new from Amazon is enough of a gamble itself... I return almost HALF of the records I get... and to buy returns??? what are you thinking????!!!!!

It was an experiment. It was a failure. I tried again (see that video), which was a worse failure, if you can believe it. If it wasn't for their easy return system, I wouldn't have tried it. Nor would I ever order records from Amazon, much less Amazon Warehouse. You just don't know what you're going to get.

Better watch those returns ....too many and they'll ban you , and anyone else at your address ...as a customer......permanently.
