Can you make edibles that feel like smoking weed? A Conversation with Riley Kirk PhD

We all know the difference between smoking and edibles.
Smoking has a fast onset and a different “feel”, while edibles tend to last longer, hit stronger, and take over your entire body.
75% of people prefer smoking because they like the feeling better. But some people can't or don't want to smoke, but still want those effects.
Is there a way to get the best of both worlds?
This week, we sat down with Riley Kirk PhD (aka Cannabichem) to talk about a breakthrough that is leading to a future where edibles could feel more like smoking.
We also cover:
* Whether or not strain specific edibles are a thing
* What the most surprising piece of data Riley has collected so far
* The science behind the difference between smoking and eating cannabis
* And more!
If you’ve ever wondered why edibles and smoking feel different, or you want to know more about the latest research says about cannabis, this podcast is for you.

    About minute 46 just solidified my thoughts on the synthetic molecules. This is about to be a long comment by the way. I currently live in Europe. I took a trip to Paris for a race and ran across a cannabis shop they sold CBD and something called HHC. I asked questions then did some research. Synthetically created by hydrogenating….. my service was bad in Paris so I had just bought the device then continued on. lol. Wasted money. I went back to the states recently and went to one of the smoke shops to se what they had. Of course not a legalized state. They had delta 8 and HHC products. I was curious of delta 8. But seeing it comes in very small amounts and they have to do thing chemically and add and whatever the hell else, it scared me. They know that people aren’t or aren’t trying to educate themselves on all these different molecules they are advertising. They aren’t asking questions because they think it’s all the same. My husbands friend gave us a delta 8 gummie. Now before I read the container he was saying how it made him super high and he didn’t like it. And they are selling it at the smoke shops and you need no card. (Medical state) He thought it was real thc. When I saw the bottle I was like this isn’t what you think it is. Delta 8 …< 0.3% THC in small letters. They are misinforming the public. And kids are getting their hands on these synthetics. SMH. It’s crazy. I feel like these are the things that are going to keep the negative stigmas on this beautiful plant. Thays it dangerous and whatever else they same. I think these things they are selling over the counter in prohibition states is dangerous I have so many questions on the effects of the “legal weed”. It hasnt been around enough.

    Such a great insight! Thank you for sharing your experiences with Delta 8. It is indeed nasty. We did an entire episode on it and when we were doing research, it was mind blowing how deceptive companies were. One said that their delta 8 was organically grown. It was unbelievably confusing, even to people who study and talk about cannabis for a living. The idea that these products are growing in popularity is just scary.

    Thank you so much for this feedback! I take full responsibility for this as making sure captions were edited was on me and I ran up against the deadline, so it fell off the lid. I will do better next time. Also it is meant to be a podcast, so feel free to check it out on Spotify or apple podcasts, etc. and listen without the purple thing for this episode :) ❤
