All jokes aside, think about all the things that would be made harder in your office. The workplace would be a spaghetti fest of wires and cords. That could cause dangers in the office, especially for people in the older generation. Every day, there's technology used that the average consumer is afraid to break. So afraid, that they may not use an expensive piece of technology out of fear that it may void a warranty. Think about all of the people you've met who don't use a printer because they don't want to learn about it.
It can also be harder for the older generation. It might be hard for a young explaining to an old person certain technology. Some of them may even take it literally. Terms like the "Cloud" or "Cookies" can create barriers of knowledge in between workers. You may work at a workplace that may not have the newest technology, but an efficient workplace. That may be because the workers grasp the concepts of what is given to them. The assignments that they're given make sense in some fashion, but the way to complete them could be an entirely different story.
The purpose of the video wasn't to sham anybody. Rather it is a humorous skit poking fun at the reality of the situation. Anyone can master the technology given to them with enough practice. But sometimes, employees need to take a look at the gap in understanding when it comes to their co-workers.

A better title for this video might be, "Can you imagine life without technical support specialists?" While it's true that system administrators often get coerced into providing tech support services, system administrators are people who configure and maintain file servers and associated network infrastructure.
