There are batter ways to file this straight. You need a long file and you brace it against the opposing edge across the basket. You can also use a marker to see exactly how much you took off. Look at other videos that show this.

That’s how I filed mine as well. Line up file with the opposing finger on the opposite side to maintain alignment. The market trick is great too, helps you see what you’re taking off.
