💔💔💔 Can you die of a broken heart? ⏲️ 6 Minute English
💔 Learn English vocabulary and grammar with 6 Minute English from BBC Learning English!
The heart is an important organ in our body and we must take care of it. Healthy eating and exercise can keep it in good condition, but is it still possible to die from being sad and upset - or what we might call 'a broken heart'? 6 Minute English discusses the subject and hears from an expert who explains whether this can really happen.
Vocabulary
💔 nuanced - small but important things that need to be considered
💔 bereavement - sadness we feel when someone close to us dies
💔 passed away - a more gentle way of saying ‘died’
💔 muddle through - get to the end of a difficult situation somehow. Not always by making the right decisions but, in the end, getting there
💔 time-poor - not having enough free time
💔 prioritising - deciding how important different things are

Mend the broken heart😍
In 2008, my grandfather passed away.it was heart-broken for me🙂
It's nuanced, not simple as it seems Muddle through, I didn't make a right decision, but still muddled through Being time poor leads us to eating junk food
What's video playlists do you have transcript? This one have no transcript
Thanks from syria ❤❤
thank you so much its very interesting topic from Algeria
Wow great video. It's hard to share but i will. I had a heartbreak in 2022. It was my first relationships ever. I met the person who showed me who i was. I loved him with my whole soul. When we broke up i felt down. I couldn't even have a meal at all. I felt nothing. I felt like i lost the person who was so important and special to me in whole world. It felt like he died for me. I think there's no word in every languages that can describe what i got through. For me love in relationships doesn't exist. Maybe i think so because of my heartbreak. Thanks a lot, BBC😉
Thank you so much !
I need your advice. I'm good in reading, writing less good in listening but I'm very bad in speaking. Tel me about your experiences. Thanks in advance😊😊😊😊

hi there, I think there is a mistake at 1:21 since it's written "programme" instead of "program".. Am I wrong ?
@bbclearningenglish

Well spotted Fatoumata, but we're afraid you are not right in this case. Sorry! The word 'program' is the American or Australian spelling of the word 'programme' - meaning a television or radio broadcast. Thank you for your comment! We always appreciate comments from our viewers.

Nuanced means that there is a small difference in tone, colour, meaning, etc. It highlights that there is only a small difference which may not be easy to spot - especially to people who are unfamiliar with the situation. Does that help?
