Can you connect an external microphone to a Canon PowerShot SX50 HS?
Spoiler Alert! The answer is unfortunately “NO”!
Here is the link to the microphone set I purchased on Amazon:

This set works great with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone for recording my voice in windy conditions.
Thank you for watching!

Onde encontro esse adaptador para ligar na camera por favor
I too have the same canon . I bought it primarily to take shots of the craters on the moon. But would now like to use it for ytube recrodings to which I say thanks you saved me both effort and $$. Im not too happy with the pictures quality of this camera. My iPhone takes better pics actually, but again its unmatched for a $300 camera that takes craters on the moon.
Try testing it but start with the external microphone. In the past I've used cameras that can't switch audio sources during the same video. So take 1 video with it and one without it and test the difference.
Thank you, that was quite a comprehensive test. An honest review.
same camera, same problem
That first hole is for a shutter remote
Hi. thanks for the test ! Good job !
Thanks!!!!
You need to disable built in microphone before you can test external microphone because only one microphone can work at a time. I am pretty sure it will work, if you follow what I said.
Thank you so much for sharing! Super informative microphone demonstration video creation congratulations too! Good day!
thanks for this video..

Thanks bro
Thanks for this!! I was super close to buy the adapter

On sound did you change setting to manual then reboot the camera and try?
I was too late to see your video. I brought everything you have brought. Yes you are correct. It doesn’t work. I have the same camera.
Thank you for this video
The top hole is indeed for a remote clicker :)
