Fully agree with using peekaboo badge, nothing stopping you from looking up hp even if you have most of them memorized anyway

Yeah, but Goombella using Tattle literally shows the HP anyway. Plus it helps you complete your bestiary. Kinda why I never used the badge, personally. I just get it to complete the collection. XP

I mean, realistically, you can use badges, just a very limited selection with no increase to BP like its a no star points run no level up you could do everything you can at level one

@@Devourlord in challenge runs it kinda just... wastes a turn, especially if its a hard challenge, you want to deal damage as much as possible, 1 turn wasted on tattling could equal you losing the battle because you couldnt deal the extra 2 damage from that first turn, its especially bad if you just have goombella sitting there tattling for 3 turns straight instead of dealing damage, and bestiary only matters if you care about 100%ing a save file

@@slayer-asp-6670my thoughts exactly, I’ve tried a bit of challenge running this game but in the begging especially I didn’t have many enemy stats memorized so peekaboo ended up being pretty useful for optimizing my turns

Gale Force and Showstopper's success rates are calculated by the enemy's base susceptibility value with a modifier based on Mario's level and the enemy's (+/- 1% for every level difference). Cortez is level 77 and completely immune (of course), but his weapons are level 0 with 90% Gale Force susceptibility, so if Mario is level 10 or higher, Gale Force always works on them. You managed to very unluckily miss two 91% chances to hit.

the chapter 8 battle with the shadow sirens was complete when Vivian was out so Doop could copy her lmao I don't think I've ever had her out during that fight.

My age old strategy is destroy the game with two power plus, two power plus P, quick change, and of course Peekaboo. I can’t wait for the remake, and subscribing to you was a no brainer. out of curiosity, what challenge run are you planning on doing for Pikmin 4? I would suggest something like only Oatchi or only ice Pikmin, or, if you want a REALLY hard challenge, only the captain can attack.

Honestly, just got into your content and, as a TTYD fanatic, I love it. And it's inspiring me to try some base challenges (Double Pain run) and even find some mods and emulator for some extra stuff.

It's wild that you've been able to reliably upload TTYD vids period, let alone ones that are this high-quality. Do you see yourself switching to another game if you start getting burned out, or slowing down? Just curious; I'd love to see what you could do with original Paper Mario or games like Bug Fable, but I mean literally do whatever you want, this is great stuff.

its impossible to get burnt out from paper mario, ESPECIALLY TTYD its very easy to get burnt out from the newer games, mainly because TTYD and 64 are the 2 best games for the paper mario series and the rest are kinda... eh, and imo TTYD is the absolute best mario game out there

@@bird_obsession game is way to easy though, almost every boss is just jump on it, win only count bleck was a somewhat fun boss, and only 2 bosses require the 3d mode TTYD has so many challenges because of how many factors there are in the game, no FP, no SP, no leveling, no partners, no mario, prologue pit, no action commands etc. super paper mario... only challenge i could guess is like no jumping for fights, no using the partners and thats basically it

I have been loving all the videos you have been putting out, they all have been amazing watches. Have you considered playing the original game at all, I think you playing the hero mode mod could be interesting.

I can't believe I never figured out gale force actually permanently removes the weapons from Cortez's boss fight. I always just dealt with them returning as a kid, definitely going to revisit the fight because it was a grind getting past him lol

Hello! I've seen a few of your videos and I'm a fan of stuff like this. I've had my copy since it came out forever ago. I've only done 3 challenges before. Jumpman- Mario is only allowed to jump in battle. It's a little tricky at first because of spiked goombas but past chapter 1 it wasn't hard and i got to use badges I never had to use before. Post Chapter 4 the game got super easy because of spiky shield and ice jump. Hammerman- like with jumpman but I can't use jump in battle. This was somehow both more consistent through the entire game and more challenging than Jumpman. I especially made use of early fire drive and double Ice hammer. If I needed big damage I used smash hammer, if I was facing something like a bullet blaster, spinies, or chomps I used pierce hammer. No HP up- Don't upgrade HP. ever. chapter's 1&2 were the same as always but chapter 3 onward got me to be more strategic and use items more often (Superguard isn't mastered on everything so I use normal guard more often). It was a lot of fun. I've yet to do a BP only run.

Figured I'd toss it here in case anyone else is crazy enough to try this challenge. If you're playing through on original hardware, or without the script that Bringle used, if you level up enough, battles can have more effects (foggy for example) which could make your fights easier or harder depending on the effect/RNG. As well your audience cap would increase which could make gaining sp easier.

1:01 Actually, it change the game a little bit, because by leveling up enough time, the crowd grows making you getting dropped items more likely and refill your star meter faster

Paper Mario TTYD, but it's color splash: You can ONLY use moves, attacks, and badges that are your most prominent, identifying color. This includes partners and their colors. For instance, Mario can use any strategy since both Mario & The main icon are red, but you cannot jump or hammer enemies without red attack badges like soft stomp & fire drive. Items such as Mushroom, maple shroom & fire flower can be used by Mario, and can be used on partners. A partner's color is a bit arbitrary, but i'll go with this list: Goombella: Pink Koops: Green/Blue/Yellow Flurrie: Purple Yoshi: Green, red, blue, orange, pink, black, or white Vivian: Purple Bobbery: White/Brown/Blue Ms. Mowz: Red Partner badges lock you to partners of that color, ie if Damage Dodge P is equipped, you can ONLY switch Vivian & Flurrie into battle.

I definitely think pit of 100 trials will be interesting with this. It might not be possible, but that's part of why it'd be interesting

This is giving me vibes with the old: Super Mario RPG, Low Level run. It's nice that you can just dump all your LVLs into BP. In SMRPG, you have to just let RNG decide if you gain any EXP from your boss fights.

Gonna come out and say, without even watching the video, that this is a yes. When I played this game back when it came out, I put all of my level ups into BP and only used cool badges with silly effects and got through with perfect blocking while always having my partner in front. I didn't really have much of an issue getting through the game and the 100 trials.

So a little fun fact for when you are mid fight trying to preserve items, if Mario and his partner die at the same time, it only consumes one life shroom. So sometimes you can save items by letting them both die and get healed by an attack that hits both, like the wave attack

I got an odd challenge for you. Can you beat digimon world dusk without digivolving past champion. Rules are simple After your digimon go to rookie, no digimon you get can be past champion level, with some exceptions, these exceptions are armor digivolutions and dna digivolution. As they have some special requirements which helps balance the game. The challenge doesn’t come from power, but in how moves work because many of the best moves are impossible to get.
