18:22 Just so you know, if you go to settings, and select HUD, you can turn the “Range finder” settings for the bow and turn it on, or just make it so it’s just like the original bow’s aiming

Idk if you knew this but if you don’t want to eyeball arrows when your shooting you can change to the “classic” bow reticule. Hope this helps.

The ‘9mm pistol’ is actually the Browning Hi Power in real life. In the original, the pistol was originally the colt defender which was also in Uncharted 2.

I definitely had to have a lot of patience for this challenge but you get numb to the constant dying at a certain point and just push through it lol

PLEASE READ THIS! Hi Epic Cakes Gaming I love your videos. Here's a challenge idea for TLOU 1: The Full-Lodout Challenge This means the only stuff you can use throughout the whole game is that which is present in a full lodout. For example: At any point of time, the max capacity of revolver is 18 bullets. So you can only use 18 revolver bullets throughout the whole game. Same rule applies to all guns and throwables. However, Joel's fist, Ellie's knife and bricks and bottles can be used in unlimited quantities.

This is your best video yet, the way you improved so fast with story telling this video is amazing

U own this game man. Only beating it with a pistol is one of the hardest challenges. Keep the great work

I always see like "only melee" videos but never one where you only use a weapon, very cool and interesting vid 👍

You should’ve kept the ammo you had been given by NPCs as well as pick up ammo for everything along the way. The drops in the game work based off of what you already have. So if you are out of pistol ammo you’re more likely to find pistol ammo than for a fully loaded shotgun. Wasting the ammo only makes the game have more options of stuff to give to you.

It's PROBABLY not possible as many encounters occur when you are thrown into combat, and boss fights also throw you straight in. Think before you post

It’s something I have considered. Only thing holding me back is that it has been done before (shoutout Dante Ravioli) but the only difference is he did it with glitches so maybe trying it glitchless is something I could revisit in the future.

Only play it on grounded once. Tend to be more of a "careful/stealthy" player anyway so i did pretty much the same thing, just went full rambo mode at the end lol. Also, im a pretty average gamer so almost never play a game at anything above normal difficulty. But decided to play every difficulty of TLOU cuz its my fav game and yeah, it was hell for me lol.

and quite frankly (thats bill ) that was great

When you put the new bow reticle on a target a white dot will appear and show where the arrow will hit!! But you can change back to the old reticle in settings, HUD..

Good point I should’ve mentioned that one! I didn’t even attempt this with a pistol because I assumed it wouldn’t work since I usually do that strategy with a rifle, but could be worth trying.

Nice video, I play this alot on Grounded and yeah, that many bullet drops arent happening there. But you seem to get alot of drops at Hard difficulty. Do they put full ammocrates every few meters at easy difficulty then? :)

You get noticeably more ammo on hard than grounded I would say. The biggest issue for me was even on hard most of the ammo was NOT pistol ammo so even though enemies dropped a lot, I couldn’t use most of it. On easy difficulty most enemies drop a few bullets and you frequently max out your ammo it’s kinda insane compared to harder difficulties lol

Good eye. There are two training manuals that increase the durability of your shivs but if you have a shiv already crafted it won’t increase the durability of that shiv, hence why it looks like I used one. So if you look at 6:45 I don’t have a shiv, but right after that I picked up the first shiv manual in the bar of Bill’s Town and THEN crafted a shiv (hence why it’s full durability after that). If you look again at 10:20 I have a full shiv on me, but right after that in the hotel lobby it’s not full (since I picked up the shiv manual in the hotel lobby). I should’ve just ignored those manuals but picking those up is why the shiv isn’t full durability.

I learnt that the hard way

18:24 that is a setting you can change it to “rangefinder” or “classic”

For anyone struggling on a normal run, the easiest way to deal eith the Pittsburgh stalkers is before starting the generator, go upstairs and deal with the four stalkers up there. Then go downstairs, place bombs at the exits to the generator room, start the generator. Wait for the bloater to enter the room, run around the lockers and exit the room and bilt towards the exit area. You might have to kill a few stalkers on the way. Soon, the bloater will come up. The most efficient way to kill it is to shoot it in the exit hallway, jump down the hole into one of the downstairs room, shoot it a couple more times. Run up the stairs in that room back upstairs to the exit hallway, and repeat until it dies. Then go find the keycard and boom, you're out.

Just beat the game today and when I fought the bloater with David it died after one shot of the rifle as it fell down

i just wanna say that if your playing the older versions of the game AKA THE ONES WITHOUT THE WORD "Part 1" you can skip the entire building with the clicker introductions, and bills traps area with no kills needed. There is another part you can skip by doing a glitch that kills everything including elly but forgot where that was.
