The reason why day 20 was so easy is because it is a leftover from the original version of the game, where after beating a world, you had to go back and redo earlier levels with added challenge conditions to earn stars. In the 1.7 update, the game got a massive rework that changed a number of things (such as changing the value of a sun from 25 to 50 and adding in gargantuars). The level system was reworked so that instead of having 10/11 levels in a world, there were 24 levels in a world (later 25 when the Zomboss levels were added) and a number of the additional levels were copy pasted from the challenge versions.

No, not really. A lot of other levels were leftovers from the original version, but day 20 isn't- it used to be Cannons Away III until they recently decided to remove all Cannons Away levels besides one for some reason, and both Day 3 and Day 20 were replaced with copy-pasted levels. The new Day 3 is EXACTLY the same as Day 1, and Day 20 is just Day 1 again with a sun production objective. Modern PopCap L

@@cloudy28 My bad. I just checked the objectives for pre 1.7 day 1 and none of them match up with the new day 20. The closest comparison would be star 2 which has a flower line and a 1750 sun production goal. You are completely correct. This isn't even reusing the old version levels. They just made yet another day 1 copy. I assumed that that they replaced the cannons away levels with completely new ones like they did with Ancient Egypt day 23, but I was wrong. PopCap have managed to sink below my already low expectations.

Since there are levels where rule bends are required, I would set up a system to determine what and how much to bend over other options. Like a nut meter going something like 5/5: Seen as a nut by most people 4/5: Has "nut" in the name 3/5: Nut-like plants (hard shell and such) 2/5: Plants in similar families as 5/5s but definitely not nuts (beans) 1/5: Sun producer required (not including sun based levels) 0/5: Impossible Pre-plants and required gimmicks are allowed, but -1 for having to use plant food on them Love the content and good luck on the rest of the run!

I feel like the "Is the Peanut a nut" argument can also be argued in favour of the nuts due to it's role as a tank. It's very clearly meant to be a combination of both the peashooter and the wall nut, and the wall nut half of it I think makes it valid for this challenge, regardless of what the actual classification of a peanut is. Also the video is really good :)

I think the rule should be that it has to have “nut” in its name, and have a defensive purpose.Beans being included would stray to far from the challenge. - Laser beans lane wide damage and plant food effect completely remove peanuts offensive capabilities from relevancy - Chili bean for insta kills against any headgear zombie, so basically bucket heads would be a joke And spring bean is a lot more useful, due to chard being ineligible for use Note: Sun bean is practically mandatory in dark ages, without sun from the sky. Outside of dark ages, sun bean should be an ineligible choice

For the stupid "pEanUtS ArE bEAns" bit, if a plant is in the reinforce-mint family AND has more starting defense than a peashooter that gets placed on the right half of the lawn AND has the word "Nut" in its name, it should count, so peanuts should count, same with endurian which is "Technically a fruit"

The refractory period joke is underappreciated

This has to be one of the best pvz2 challenge series. I know many people have probably said this before, but, i havent been this happy to watch a pvz challenge video. The jokes are funny, im recieving fun yet useless information, and it genuinely makes me feel like im 6 and watching youtube in my kitchen in 2015.

10:58 you are right. This is actually the first level of pirate seas. PvZ 2 get a huge redisign in 1.7 update. Before 1.7 after you beat all main levels in the world you had to collect stars in this levels. Those levels was the same, but with extra objectives. Like "don't plant more than X plants". Each level had 3 stars. In 1.7 update game was redisigned, but levels got unchanged. Now game uses challenge levels and versions of regular levels with objectives as only remnained regular levels. And i'm know. My english is bad

Yes, dark ages seem to be pretty impossible in this challenge, though infi-nut, tall-nut and endurian (though he is not a nut) would be acquired to that point

You have such a smooth and compeling voice and seems so chill I would let you do whatever to the challenge and not even care "Sure the dragons are nuts of course you can play them yes"

The bean gets tired so easily. You can clearly see that it needs a nutshell protecting it.

The spring bean always felt like something that was too specialized to be useful anywhere else than in pirate seas. It knocks zombies back, like, a tile, but if its next to open water it throws them there, which only gets utilized in Pirate Seas. Its main use besides that it is to make the barrel zombies lose their barrel, and I don't think there are any barrel zombie-like zombies in another of the other worlds. They are also slightly more effective at zombies that play an animation and do damage all at once since they play the animation but don't actually get to hit the bean while they fly back.

My list of usable nuts Wall-nut You made a case for Coconut Cannon so okay, Tall-nut Infi-nut Pea-nut Primal Wall-nut Explode-O-Nut Gumnut Murkadamia Nut Also after this... Peas only?

I dont remember the name of it, but I loved the interaction with the bean nutrient and the single use plant that oneshots anything airborn. I started using that strat all the time alongside sun production with mirror plants. Sickest times. So anyways yeah, the bean is one of my favorites.

I actually originally downloaded PvZ 2 a very big while back when it was first released back in 2013 and after playing it for a couple years I have stopped. However, from seeing your series, I got back into playing the PvZ franchise and it has brought back a lot of nostalgia as well as fun because I used to play the PvZ franchise a lot so thank you very much Shagrots!
